{"id":312,"date":"2009-02-02T10:01:38","date_gmt":"2009-02-02T10:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.weddingdates.ie\/blog\/?p=312"},"modified":"2021-02-15T17:09:36","modified_gmt":"2021-02-15T17:09:36","slug":"top-5-ambient-hotels-in-err-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weddingdates.ie\/blog\/top-5-ambient-hotels-in-err-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"Top 5 Ambient Hotels in, err, Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While I have a nearly unlimited number of pet peeves, chief among them is the inability of some of our overseas cousins to distinguish between the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s bad enough when this mistake is made by tourists <em>standing in the middle of Dublin<\/em>, but it&#8217;s far worse when you&#8217;re an online business that runs an entire survey and follow-up promotion to identify the Top 5 Ambient Hotels in the UK &#8211; and <strong>three of the winners are in Ireland.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The good news for brides is that Ashford Castle (Cong), the Hayfield Manor Hotel (Cork), and Dromoland Castle (Clare) are indeed deeply romantic hotels that make stunning wedding venues:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-314 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/weddingdates-wp-ie.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/2009\/02\/ashford.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>More bad news for Hotel Club, who ran the poll:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Ambiance:<\/strong> <em>(n.)<\/em> The special atmosphere or mood created by a particular environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ambient:<\/strong> <em>(adj.)<\/em> Encompassing on all sides.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Some days, I really want to beat the internet with a bouquet made of concrete.<\/p>\n<p><em>PS: Oh dear God: three of the Five Top Hotel Bars in the UK are also in Ireland. So are the Best Hotel Rooms and Hotels for Business Travelers.
