Only the best would do for Colm and\u00a0Ben\u00e9’s special day. Unapologetic perfectionists, the pair rose to the challenge beautifully, resulting in an elegant country house wedding infused with cultural traditions. Opting for a sentimental humanist ceremony, their love was bound using colourful ribbons to mark\u00a0the bride’s French roots and the groom’s proud Irish heritage. Creating their own tradition, Colm hammered a bottle of their wedding wine into a wooden box, only to be consumed on the couple’s one-year anniversary.<\/p>\n

The Beginning<\/h2>\n

“People always laugh when we tell them how we met. We met at the gates of our apartment complex, after returning from a Friday night socialising in Dublin City Centre. I was opening the gate as B\u00e9n\u00e9 approached. She walked past me and her boots echoed in the archway. I commented on how loud they were and that she’d surely wake the neighbours. B\u00e9n\u00e9 laughed. When she did, I was hooked! We spent about 20 minutes chatting to each other in the freezing November cold. Eventually, I plucked up the courage to ask for her number. The rest as they say is history.”<\/p>\n

The Proposal<\/h2>\n

“It was January a little over two years ago, in what we think is the most romantic and beautiful area of Paris, Montmartre. We were staying in a gorgeous Boutique Hotel and I handed B\u00e9n\u00e9 a card to tell her how much I loved her and about how i wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. While she was reading it, I went down on bended knee and opened a box with a ring inside. B\u00e9n\u00e9 burst into tears of joy and thankfully said yes!”<\/p>\n

The Venue<\/h2>\n

“Lisnavagh House itself was truly magical and perfect for our small intimate wedding with just family and close friends. It was the second venue we visited in Ireland during our initial stages of planning – and we visited a lot of venues!\u00a0We called to Lisnavagh House on B\u00e9n\u00e9\u2019s birthday and we just fell in love with it straight away.”<\/p>\n
