{"id":570,"date":"2009-05-13T11:45:52","date_gmt":"2009-05-13T10:45:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.weddingdates.ie\/blog\/?p=570"},"modified":"2024-04-25T17:36:01","modified_gmt":"2024-04-25T16:36:01","slug":"do-us-a-favour-will-ya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weddingdates.ie\/blog\/do-us-a-favour-will-ya\/","title":{"rendered":"Do us a Favour, will ya?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In our wedding budget survey last November many of you told us that due to the R-word, you are cutting back on the &#8216;optional extras&#8217; of the wedding day such as wedding favours.\u00a0 Now, while I am all in favour of cutting costs and not going over-the-top in terms of your wedding budget, I have to say I am a sucker for wedding favours.\u00a0 And, the good news is &#8211; they don&#8217;t have to cost the earth!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/weddingdates-wp-ie.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/2009\/05\/6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-573\" src=\"https:\/\/weddingdates-wp-ie.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/2009\/05\/6-600x399.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For our Launch Party in February, I handmade our wedding favours and the results were fantastic!\u00a0 You can buy very plain DIY favour boxes from an Irish Seller on eBay.ie costing approx \u20ac50.00 for 200.\u00a0 Ribbon should match in with your colour scheme and can be bought from any haberdashary shop, or again online there are great deals available.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/weddingdates-wp-ie.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/2009\/05\/wedding_favours_pic3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-571\" src=\"https:\/\/weddingdates-wp-ie.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/2009\/05\/wedding_favours_pic3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"158\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I adore the concept of personalising your favours, it is your big day after all &#8211; you should put as much of your own stamp on it as you can! (It&#8217;s those little things that people remember)\u00a0 For the launch I tied one of my business cards to each box with the ribbon, but for your wedding how about a small card with a photo of you both on it and your names, the wedding date, and maybe &#8220;Thank You For Coming&#8221; on it?\u00a0 Try <a href=\"http:\/\/uk.moo.com\/en\/ideas\/wedding.php\">moo cards<\/a> for high quality, cards that you can design yourself online with mimimal fuss.\u00a0 Then simply punch a hole in each card and tie using the ribbon&#8230;easy peasy!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/weddingdates-wp-ie.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/2009\/05\/wedding-favour.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-572\" src=\"https:\/\/weddingdates-wp-ie.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/2009\/05\/wedding-favour.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What to fill the boxes with?\u00a0 Well, that&#8217;s entirely up to you!
