Yes, a cake just for the groom!

Most brides tend to take the lead in the wedding planning, and it’s no secret that the average groom is happy to sit on the sidelines during a majority of the process. A groom’s cake is the perfect opportunity to let your man’s interests and tastes take centre stage…well maybe left of centre. This is one detail out of the entire day that can represent him alone.

If you didn’t already know, I am originally from the States and grew up with a very talented mother who was always baking exquisite cake creations for weddings and a range of other celebrations. So, you can bet I’ve seen my fair share of groom’s cakes and the many different forms they can take. They can be a lot of fun and there’s really no limit to how creative you can be. You don’t have to do a groom’s cake on the big day, but it’s a great way to tie in his personality and add another flavour to the dessert table…even better if you can’t agree on cake flavours! This second cake would usually be cut after the wedding cake and then left to the caterer, of whoever is in charge of cutting/serving the wedding cake, to cut and serve the rest.

If you’re looking to show a little appreciation for your man, this could be just the surprise you’re looking for. Take some inspiration from some of his favourite things and go ahead and get creative! Have a look at some of these quirky examples for ultimate groom’s cake inspo.
