We honestly didn’t have a clue what we were doing organizing a wedding but Ian was extremely helpful suggesting time frames and ideas etc the food was amazing and the staff were excellent as I said I couldn’t fault one thing!

them enough. The build up and the day itself was so smooth and fun, it’s what everyone would hope for when planning such a big event: the hotel staff, the rooms, absolutely everything was perfect. It was the most relaxed environment which really allowed for everyone to just completely enjoy themselves. I wish I could do it all again. Ian is a superstar and we’re so grateful that we were lucky enough to work with him for our big day.

the team went out of their way to make us feels special and nothing was too difficult for them. They went above and beyond what we could have expected. Many of our guested commented on how impressed they were with the food and service at our wedding and how they found it much better than some of the five star hotels they had been to recently for weddings.
I can't recommend Actons Hotel and Ian enough, best service you could ask for.

he would have everything under control - he is the height of organisation! Nothing was too much to ask and when things went wrong on the day (such as the bride being very late - not recommended!) - he kept us calm and kept the day moving along so nobody would notice.
The location is obviously fantastic, with so much choice of where to go for your photos - but this would not even place first or second on the list we would give you of why to choose Actons for your wedding day.
The food is absolutely divine - all of our guests came back to us with compliments about the food, particularly those with special dietary requirements who were very well catered for.
Every single member of staff were so helpful and kind and went out of their way to make sure everyone enjoyed their day.
The rooms in the hotel are absolutely stunning and so comfortable.
The wedding packages in Actons are amazing value and take a lot of the pressure off when planning as there is so much included from food and drinks to decor and other little touches like the table plan - this really took a lot of things off our “to do” list.
Our wedding day was well and truly the most amazing day and it is all thanks to the wonderful staff at Actons - thank you so much for your fantastic work and all your help. If we could give you all a 100 hundred star rating it still wouldn’t be enough!

wedding everything ran smoothly even though the bridal party were a bit late. : )
All of our guests commented on how good the food and service was. Those who are in the industry were very impressed with how Ian organised and coordinated the team for the meal. As one guest put it "It was like a well oiled machine".
I would highly recommend having a wedding at Actons. The attention to detail, can do attitude and friendliness of the staff made it the most memorable day of our lives. People are still talking about it 8 months after the event.

result of Covid and Ian was quick to respond to any queries that we had and guided us through planning each time we had to postpone - nothing was too much for him.
The hotel itself is set in a beautiful location and the hotels surroundings are gorgeous, especially the beer garden which a lot of guests were a fan of.
The food was tasty and came out promptly and Ian ensured that I had extra portions of potato gratin, a big favourite of mine. He was also willing to make any slight changes that we required for food or drinks.
The suite we stayed in was spacious and felt luxurious.
I would highly recommend Ian & Actons for any wedding - to be honest it was the first and only venue that we visited as we knew it was perfect!

advice. He was really outstanding and made the planning process a lot easier with his help. I had a few extra asks and he accommodated every single one without any trouble.
I, my bridesmaids, and my mother stayed the night before the wedding. The bedrooms were outstanding and the newly decorated rooms were so beautiful. The staff were just excellent to deal with and did everything they could to make the evening relaxed and enjoyable.
On the Wedding Day, Ian was at hand to deal with the suppliers and manage the comings and going for the setup. He also was on hand for anything we needed as we got ready. The room was set up beautifully by Ian and To Have and to Hold for the Ceremony and the Dinner. A lot of guests commented on how beautiful it was.
We had our speeches in the little garden and it was just beautiful and very relaxed. The food in the drinks reception and dinner was perfect and the staff were so attentive to our guests. Again we got lots of comments on how brilliant the staff was at the dinner and at the bar.
Overall from booking to the end of the wedding the experience we had was one of excellence and the standard of service was 5 stars. I would highly recommend the hotel to any future brides and grooms. Amazing, Thanks so much for making our day so special

thoroughly supportive and did his best to cater for us. Unlike other venues, there was no increase in price or changes to our contract. Everything was as agreed on that very first day. And it’s not just about quantity at Actons, the quality is above and beyond what you could ever hope for. We didn’t hear one bad comment about anything provided on the day. We also had a lot of guests from outside Ireland and they were just in love with the place. Every staff member we crossed paths with was amazing and I really felt they couldn’t do enough for us. I’ll never forget our big day and highly recommend Actons as a wedding venue.

helping to reduce our stress of organising our wedding in such unpredictable times (During the covid pandemic). Ian, Fidema, Eilish and their team were very adaptable and most helpful in facilitating our requests. We were not charged for any guests who had to drop out at the last minute. The wedding reception before the meal was so well organised, and trays of food were being brought into the garden room as guests arrived, which ensured that every guest was met with a great choice of hot/cold drinks and canapé. The venue itself was perfect for our wedding. We would highly recommend Actons for any size wedding or function. You will be very well looked after.

highly recommend Actons for anyone thinking of getting married in Kinsale. The help, support and attention to detail was exceptional. Everything we had planned was organised perfectly and we didn't have to think about anything on the day, it all went as planned. We had a small family wedding and the setup of the room was perfect and didn't feel like the small crowd it was. We loved the Christmas decorations too. The honeymoon suite is out of this world.

for just being a SUPERSTAR at wedding coordination. Nothing was too much trouble and he ALWAYS had a smile on his face. If you work with Ian, I promise you're in good hands. Ian was always speedy with responses and no ask was too big! We tied the knot in August 2019 and had the best day. Everyone commented on how amazing the food was (5 courses!!), the service, drinks etc. The main room for the wedding was decorated beautifully. I would recommend this venue to anyone thinking about getting married here.

Ian Eaton(the wedding coordinator) and Ger (bar manager) both of these men went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel itself is just in the nicest of locations set in the middle of Kinsale on the waterfront. The gardens and outdoor area are spectacular esp if you have a dry day you an really enjoy it. We ate in the hotel a few times before the wedding so were really confident that the meal would be 100% and again all stops were pulled out. It really says a lot about a venue when you have 196 people sitting for a 5 course meal and not one person had so much as a minor issue.

The entire hotel including the public area and guest rooms are impeccable.

I have always recommended this hotel as a must for accommodation or even just for a meal as its in a gorgeous part of Cork and a busy little town with loads to do

Thank you to all the staff at Actons hotel for showing us just how far ye go for your guests experience. You all made the biggest day of our lives run smooth and seamlessly.

took the time to respond to a phone call or an email and always put my mind at ease. He is very calm and as soon as you sit down to talk to him you know that your wedding day is in the right hands.

The food was simply amazing from start to finish. It is something that our guests are still commenting on. There was plenty of it and the same goes for the wine. There were a number of specific dietary requirements at our wedding. Ian took all the details and reassured us that there was no issue here and they would happily provide suitable meals. Thank you so much for being so accommodating and it really took the pressure from us knowing that everyone was catered for and everyone there could enjoy a meal.

The drinks reception room and bar are alongside each other and I really like this as it keeps your guests together and they don't have to go off searching for the bar elsewhere.

The reception room was so beautiful and exactly what I wanted. The cherry blossom trees and the candelabras really stood out. I was just so happy with how it looked.

The following day myself and my husband stayed to have dinner. The staff could not have been more attentive. We felt very special and well looked after and we really appreciated that. It kept us in 'bride and groom' mode for another day which was a real treat.

I wish I could do it all again. Thank you so much to Ian and all the staff of Actons. We really had the best day.

very easy indeed. The hotel staff were so attentive both in the build-up to the wedding and on the day itself. No request was too big and they were so obliging on every front. Lots of our guests have complimented the delicious food and quality of service on the day. The function room looked beautiful and there were lots of options to chose from for chair ties etc. We even got to stay in one of their newly refurbished wedding suites , it was exquisite. The day ran so smoothly . I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough for any perspective wedding couple.

with the wedding planner Ian Eaton & within a few minutes we were sold. Ian is a professional through & through & we were confident from our very first meeting that he & his team would deliver!

Nothing was too big a deal for Ian, things that had us frazzled he could offer a simple solution. He literally held our hand through the process & made it so easy. Ian had hoped to have our seating plan organised before Christmas, however we were not ready to go with it & he simply offered to come in on his time off on the 27th of December - that’s the type of person you’re dealing with no job is too big for him.

On the day itself everything was impeccable, the hotel looked amazing & although we caught the tail end of the reception we knew everybody had a lovely time - Ian assured us the food & drink would flow & it certainly did.

Onto dinner & the service was super efficient, the food was delicious & lots of our guests commented on this. We’d a few fussy eaters & guests with dietary requirements & they were all delighted with their meals. We were called for dinner at 5pm & including the speeches dinner was over by 8pm, feeding close on 140 people.

We dropped a few boxes of props etc to the hotel the night before & the staff organised everything. Also on the day we’d a few cancellations & this did not faze Ian. The General Manager Thomas & the catering team they just rejigged everything.

We both cannot honestly recommend Actons enough. The location is fab, all of the staff are superbly professional & they contributed to ensuring we’d the best day of our lives!

our meal, to the bar staff and housekeeping staff,the amazing chefs and very nice manager Tomas we were blown away with the outstanding service we received here from start to finish. Our honeymoon suite was beautiful and friends and family are still Raving about the delicious food and drink served at the hotel throughout the weekend. We don't have enough words to describe the best weekend of our lives. Nothing was an inconvenience to them, and any slight issue was dealt with excellently and calmly by Ian which for a very nervous bride and groom was so comforting. of the logistics of getting Marios family in situ from Argentina and Italy, Ian and the reception staff were always very patient with the many chopping, changing and reconciliation of room bookings to ensure an accurate and smooth welcome to all our guests.

We enjoyed our " taster menu " experience very much, Actons Hotel were extremely generous and hospitable to us and our family on both occasions, these " taster " meals were a great opportunity to sample the very high quality and variety of food on offer as well as a fine selection of international wines.

In the lead up to our wedding, Ian and his team were always at hand to help us fine tune last minute arrangements even up to the day before as we had a very specific idea about our table plan and also some technical challenges due to video messages from abroad and music for our Irish and tango dancers !! Ian was a huge help and support with all of these items and went above and beyond to make sure that everything worked.

On the big day, every one of our guests commented on the excellent hospitality and customer service received from every member of the staff in Actons hotel, we had about 80 guests staying in the hotel, everyone commented around the fantastic staff and " nothing ever being a problem "

The wedding reception exceeded our expectations, the quality of the product and the service was excellent, minor seating issues were dealt with swiftly and discreetly, the reception room looked fantastic, and little touches like flags flying at full mast to represent the difference cultures, were noticed and appreciated by everyone.

As our wedding weekend was a two day event, Actons Hotel also did an amazing job with a bar b q on Easter Sunday, we had more guests than expected, yet the staff rallied around and made it work.

Nearly 4 months later we, our families, and our guests are still talking about what a wonderful experience we had for our special weekend.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the hotel manager Tomas Wixon, events manager Ian Eaton and all the staff in Actons Hotel for ensuring such a wonderful and memorable experience. We would highly recommend this venue for any occasion and we look forward to returning next year for our first anniversary.

Many of our guests travelled long distances to come to our wedding and several travelled with young children. Sarah and the accomodation team handled all of the bookings and the many special requests for babysitters and last minute additions with great professionalism.

We didn't need to know the details because Actons took care of everything, which meant we could focus on our day. The wedding banquet was stellar. Our guests, several of whom work in the hotel industry, all commented on the high quality of the food and even though our wedding photographs took a little longer than expected, Actons accommodated the delay in such a seamless way that we had no idea we were even behind time.

Furthermore, the hotel was beautiful on the day and the staff helped us with the reception table arrangements rendering the reception room everything we had hoped for. When we realised that we had forgotten to collect the top table flower arrangements from the church, Thomas yet again came to the rescue and made sure they were brought to the hotel in time for the reception. From the initial red carpet entrance, to the drinks reception, to the main reception, everything was flawless. We would highly recommend Actons as a wedding venue and would gladly do it all over again with Thomas and the team.

rest of our lives. We are both from Cork and so wanted somewhere special to invite our friends and family from home and abroad to celebrate our wedding day somewhere close to home. Initially, when researching different hotels we went to many hotels and met with managers and wedding planners to discuss what they had to offer in relation to price, resources but also atmosphere and willingness to listen to how we envisaged our day. When we met with Mary and looked around Actons, which had recently reopened after a big refurbishment, we instantly knew this was the place we felt excited about bringing all of our guests to enjoy our wedding day. Mary was very accommodating with any questions we had and we felt Actons were willing to go above and beyond for us and our guests. On the day, everything ran smoothly, we were really relaxed in the knowledge that the hotel and its staff had everything under control and we were just able to take it all in with no stress. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was, the room was bright and airy which was great considering it was a hot day and the guests rooms were lovely. The breakfast the following morning was delicious again and there was a great buzz around the hotel, it being summer and also the location of the hotel in the middle of Kinsale. We stayed again the following night in Actons as we had a BBQ for our guests in Hamlets and then finger food and music in the Bulman. It was lovely for our guests from Canada, Hongkong, Australia, and other parts of Ireland to spend a beautiful sunny weekend in June in Kinsale but it was also great for those from Cork. We would really recommend it as a wedding venue. Thanks to all involved.

Every request we had was accommodated and even things we hadn't thought of were looked after with no fuss and upmost discretion.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful with amazing views over the harbour, all the bedrooms and the function room are stunning.
We were so relaxed on the day itself as we had got to know the staff over the run up to the wedding and we knew that there was nothing to worry about and everything would be looked after without any interference from us.
We could not fault anything about Actons Hotel on our wedding day as the service, food, atmosphere and all the little subtle touches were absolutely outstanding. We and all our guests had an amazing day.

cooperative and above all helpful. From the smallest to the biggest of queries in relation to organisation ahead of our big day Mary was happy to help. On the day itself many of our guests later commented to us on how helpful and professional the staff of the hotel were.
Aside from the staff, the hotel itself is in a beautiful location and the building has recently been tastefully redecorated and modernised.
Many additional extras were included as part of our booking eg. complimentary menu tasting and overnight stay ahead of our reception, 3 month use of the leisure centre, additional overnight stay on the day after our wedding, overnight stay for one year anniversary to name a few.
I believe the hotel to be a stalwart of Kinsale town which in itself is one of the most beautiful seaside towns in Ireland. All in all, I consider Actons Hotel to be a great choice for a wedding venue.

stress and worry out, and left us to enjoy the day care free (We'll obviously not completely care free, it's still a nerve racking day!). Not living in Ireland at the time we made most arrangements via email and the telephone and Mary was brilliant, very prompt and helpful, she couldn't do enough for us. We had a lot of guest staying at the hotel in more than 20 rooms, including quite a few who stayed for 3 or more nights. They absolutely loved it, all the staff were so friendly and could not have been more helpful, some of our friends have been back to the hotel since, and we intend to go back ourselves shortly. The function room looked really classy for the reception and the waiting staff did a great job, it all went very smoothly, the food was served promptly. They organised the band and Ceili setup and changeover perfectly. The food itself was superb, as were the canapés, which says a lot as the overall quality of food in Kinsale is awesome. We laid on a BBQ for the wedding quests for the day after the wedding in the hotel garden. The BBQ blew everyone away, even now our guest say "Remember how awesome the BBQ was!"

The hotel itself is in a great location in the heart of Kinsale, the pool and facilities are great. We are so thankful to Mary, Tomas and all the staff at Acton's for helping give us a perfect wedding. Kinsale itself is also a superb place to get married, everyone had a really great weekend. I highly recommend Actons.

On the day, everything was perfect, food was outstanding and service was exceptionally good! They made our day so special, we knew we were in good hands so we could really sit back and relax and enjoy our day.

Christmas and the hotel looked beautiful and very festive. We had very positive responses from all the guests on how staff looked after all their needs and everyone is still raving about the food and the wonderful atmosphere. We would recommend Actons to everyone, the location is beautiful, it is newly renovated and staff are excellent. We had an fabulous day and would love to do it all over again. Thanks for everything.

The hotel is decorated to the highest standard so it was a joy to stay there but by far the best asset of the venue was Mary and all the staff. They treated us and all my guests like royalty and they brought us off to relax at different parts during the day to catch our breaths and have some champaign and food. It was the most amazing day of our life's. I loved every minuet of the lead up and it was made so easy by Mary O'Donovan in Acton's. She helped me with everything from the menus (the food was amazing) booking and organising of the layout, the look of the rooms and the booking of the wedding parties into the hotel during the days before and after. Everyone of my guests. had the most amazing time and have nothing but amazing feedback of all the staff and rooms at the hotel.

was to have a team of calm reliable, efficient people who would ensure that nothing was an issue. My main worry as a bride was that I would miss something that was important but Mary, the hotel Conference & Banqueting Manager guided me through everything. (I had a list of 43 questions at our first meeting) Everything was taken care of without any stress. (Particularly important when planning a wedding) Attention to detail was impeccable. We met with the chef prior to the wedding to discuss and taste menus and received fantastic feedback from our guests about how the waiters and waitresses and bar staff were amazing with the kids and really friendly and attentive in general. Overall, to add to a perfect setting in a beautiful hotel the made the wedding the special day that it was. We have sadly lost a parent since and it's just so great to look back at the pictures of the very happy time in the beautiful setting. Professionalism, courtesy and friendliness is top of the agenda here. Most of the wedding guests stayed for a long weekend and did not want to leave. Highly recommended
