room, the staff!!! The function room itself has the perfect layout. You can see all your guests, no nooks or crannys, two bars in the room itself and toilets are right next to function room. It keeps all of your guests in the one area. The bridal suite was stunning! Pure luxury. Lots of our guests commented that they loved the staff! They were so friendly and weren’t afraid to hold conversations with them. They were speedy and efficient. No waiting around. The food was fabulous. So tasty on the day…and hot! No one was waiting ages. Our drinks reception there was plenty of food going around, hot as well as cold food which I think is important as people are hungry at that stage. Lots of drinks too! Debbie is in a league of her own. She’s without question in the right job, she is so kind, pleasant, friendly, helpful. I felt so relaxed the whole day and felt I had nothing to worry about because I knew I was in safe hands and I know not a lot of brides can say that. wedding vendors to helping us with the smallest but important touches to our wedding. We had our wedding on Friday the 15th of September 2023, I told them I would be staying Thursday, Friday & Day 2 on the Saturday, the hotel catered for all my family & friends that travelled from Kildare. For the 3 days I was there, the service was outstanding,attention to detail was down to a tee, we are both still over the moon nearly 6 weeks after with how we were looked after by Debbie,management,staff & chefs (they were real good feeders & quality food). The only time we were told no to a question was when I asked them to do our wedding for free, course we had a laugh to that, all our meetings pre wedding was always get the serious part of the meeting done & then we were made relax & just had great conversations. If anyone was looking for a recommendation I would easily pass on my recommendations to everyone that was involved in our special day. Thank You to everyone involved in the Clayton Hotel. originally met with Karina and then she moved departments shortly after and the wonderful Debbie Foott took over. She genuinely could not have done enough for us. She was just amazing and we were so lucky to have her. If a job could be done it was always a yes. We were never told no. She made our vision come true and we had the best wedding. The guests raved about the food, the venue and the staff. We could not have asked for a better bunch of people. We are so sad it’s all over. Debbie put up with emails at all hours and responded in such a humbling way to reassure any bride/person. I would highly recommend having your wedding at the Clayton Galway and especially working with the fantastic Debbie. You will not regret it, if we could do it all over again we would choose the Clayton in Galway again. Thanks so much for everything you guys do.

up was a dream. Debbie was absolutely amazing, nothing was too big or small she helped us every step of the way in deciding what would be best for our special day and she went above and beyond our expectations. Debbie was so professional in every sense and you could email or get in contact with her anytime and she was back to you asap. Every single person commented on the top quality service and food. Another special mention to Graham the bar manager, he was brilliant himself and his bar team were top class on the day keeping us all hydrated! we had immediately and helped with every little detail needed. I cannot speak highly enough of Debbie she left no stone unturned for us making the day run seamlessly from start to finish. The day ran amazingly smooth and EVERYONE commended the venue as the food and service was 5 stars..(if I could give it 6 stars I would). call in and ask questions. I had a vision of what I wanted for the theme of the wedding and Debbie took it on herself to set it all up for me, right down to assembling our wedding cake. The only answer to every question we had was yes that's no problem we will do that for you. No stress no worry Debbie just got the job done. Every detail for our day was just perfect. We were taken care of so so well. All of our guests said the meal was amazing. The bar staff and waiting staff were on the ball, running everything like clock work. It is safe to say we made the best decision in choosing the Clayton Hotel as our wedding venue, and a total blessing we had Debbie as our wedding coordinator. My maid of honour even saved Debbie's mobile number as THE AMAZING DEBBIE. Thank you so much to all the team. We had the best weekend.

and even two weeks later we are still getting compliments from our guests about the food. They were so accommodating allowing us to mix and match with different items on the menu and even made a wonderful main course dish at our request that wasn't on their menu choice. They really couldn't do enough for us. On arrival to the venue, we were blown away by how amazing the place looked. Everything was just as we had imagined and better. Every member of staff working at our wedding was so professional and accommodating. Each time there was a new shift manager, they went out of their way to find us and introduce themselves to us and let us know that if we needed anything at all we could come directly to them which we thought was just an amazing personal touch. We had the most fantastic day and night and were once again so happy with our day 2 celebrations in the Clayton. The BBQ food was delicious and there was plenty to go around for everyone. We cannot recommend Debbie and all the wedding team in Clayton enough. They made our whole day magical and we will forever be grateful to them for that.

much to ask or too much trouble and she went the extra mile each time for us. We honestly couldn't have wished for anyone better, she really did make the whole experience stress free.
The hotel on our wedding day was set up so beautifully and it truly amazed us how every little detail was taken care of. The service we received from all the staff was second to none.The whole weekend was above and beyond our expectations and that's completely down to Debbie and her brilliant team and we are so grateful. My guests are still talking about the Clayton Hotel five weeks later, how the service was incredible, the amount of food that was served and how tasty it all was and how it was the best wedding they had in ages. choosing a new hotel as soon as I met Karina I fell so confident about having our wedding with yourselves and then as we had booked so far in advance Debbie came along and was so kind to meet me and reassure me nothing changed, only added extra layers to the wedding team and how true was this. Debbie couldn’t have done any more to support and help us and nothing was too big to ask. I have never worked with anyone so understanding and accommodating and this means so much to wedding couples for our special day. The day itself was magical and ran so smoothly. to meet, we were so over the moon that Debbie was as nice in person as she was over email. She helped us with every little detail from chair covers to mood lighting to helping us with every little thing we needed on the day. last minute thing for me for the speeches!

The food was outstanding and our guests are still commenting on how lovely each course was, we really were well fed. The same goes for the food on day 2, the BBQ was delicious and everyone enjoyed it so much!

The hotel itself looked stunning and all the little details made the day so special, our favorite bits being the personalised Galway crystal glasses and the personalised sign on the flower wall

Every single member of staff on the day/night were brilliant but a special thank you to Caden and Graham who went above and beyond.

Last but not least, the rooms are top class and we felt like celebrities staying in the penthouse suite! Wow wow wow!!! We did not want to leave.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! I wish we could do it all over again.

had attended a number of weddings previously in the hotel and each one was so different and so personal to each couple along with amazing food every time this is want stood out for us.
When Karina changed positions we were handed over to the most amazing wedding planner Debbie, when we were told we would be in very good hands we were not left disappointed. She had everything under control during the planning stages right through to the day itself, absolutely nothing was too much trouble and she was always just a phone call or an email away.
Our wedding day was even more special than either of us could have imagined, every little detail was looked after and included. Our meal was outstanding, we still have guests comment that it was the best meal they ever had at a wedding. The evening food and late night tayto sandwiches were a huge hit also. The waiting staff and bar staff are a credit to you with one more pleasant and helpful than the next. Our suppliers expressed how much of a dream the hotel was to deal with and I couldn’t agree more.
We had a bbq at the hotel the next day and it was so delicious, we will definitely be booking this whenever we next have an event, again the staff and chef on the day were brilliant and so accommodating.
I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Clayton Hotel Galway to anyone for their wedding day you honestly won’t find better.

Debbie. From our first meeting, Debbie made us feel completely at ease. She is the ultimate professional and gave us fantastic advice and guidance with the whole planning process. very genuine and clearly loves what she does. She was on hand to take calls, reply to our emails and meet with us whenever we needed.
She and the team (including Amy on the day) created a wedding experience which felt luxurious but relaxed, which was exactly what we were hoping for! There were surprising extra touches on the day (even personalised champagne glasses!). We received a beautiful red-carpet welcome on arrival, and the drinks reception was very enjoyable. The reception room was beautifully decorated, and we were extremely happy with the quality of the food and the very attentive service from the team. All of the guests who stayed overnight commented on the elegant and spacious rooms and the accommodating and welcoming staff that checked them in.
We also had our day two celebration in the Clayton and we really cannot thank the bar staff enough for their exceptional service and friendly banter.
A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Clayton for creating such a wonderful day for us and our guests.

many questions and queries without a bother and gave me all the information I needed to be able to make decisions. The day itself was amazing, everything ran more than smoothly. The whole team were just amazing. We couldn't have asked for better service. The food was delicious and they made changes that we wanted for us. I am also gluten intolerant and that was not an issue - they had plenty for me to choose from. The wine was plentiful. The restrictions had just been lifted in time for our big day so we got to have the real wedding experience with the residents bar, which went down a treat for guests that hadn't been out late in quite sometime!! On the day, everything ran so smoothly. We received an amazing red carpet welcome. The room looked fantastic and the food and wine were divine. The service was exceptional from start to finish and we couldn't fault anything at all throughout the weekend. Our guests also had a great time and were very complimentary of everything on both days.

department and that Debbie was taking over, and to be honest, we were a little nervous but after talking to Debbie for the first time, we knew she was amazing.

This was the first time either of us would be getting married, we were new to the game, but Debbie and the team knew all the tips and tricks to help us. The night of our menu tasting, we had booked into the hotel. This had been the first night away, and we were looking forward to making the most of it. The food was amazing, and we ate so much that we were in bed before midnight! Debbie was always available, especially in the week leading up to the big day.

The room was set up beautiful, and we had a memory table that you could see that thought was put into setting it up, which meant the world to us. The waiting staff and the bar staff were brilliant and were so friendly. Once again, I'm talking about the food, but our friends and family are still talking about it. We have two teenagers, and they were treated like superstars throughout the whole process, and they really enjoyed the day.

before the wedding, it was announced we would be limited to six people. Within minutes of emailing Clayton, we were given three new dates later in the year to choose from, and were told that no matter what, Clayton were going to make sure we were accommodated for and would get to celebrate the day how we wanted to. We eventually got married in October 2021, and thanks to the expert help of our wedding coordinator, Debbie Foot, the day went down without a hitch! We had met with Debbie in the months leading up to the wedding, and she went through the whole day, start to finish with us. She put a very detailed and professional plan in place, everything from the timings of the various parts of the day, to the colour schemes, decor, lights, etc, Debbie had a note on everything. On the day, there wasn’t a thing out of place, the rooms looked incredible. The food was delicious, and tables were well serviced, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day as Debbie had everything under control. We got great compliments throughout the day from our guests, and ever since, but we couldn’t take any of the credit for it. The whole team at Clayton Hotel were responsible for ensuring our guests were looked after and had a great experience. We would have no hesitations recommending Debbie and the rest of the team at Clayton Hotel for any couples looking for a venue to celebrate their special day! Everyone of the team members is friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, the function room is accommodating for weddings of all sizes and can be customised to suit any type of wedding. Most importantly, Debbie will make sure to take the stress and worries away on the day!

They were extremely accommodating, from the tasting dinner to ensuring my husband had a proper meal that suited him, as he is lactose intolerant and eats every couple of hours. They also were very flexible, knowing all regulations and how to work our wedding into these to make the most of our special day. I was allowed a band by my wedding, and Clayton Hotel was able to let them set up earlier in the day to have a smooth transition from dinner. They had a projector, and we were able to play a video my friends and family, who couldn't make it, made for us which was such a special touch. The whole meal was like an orchestra, everyone commented on how well run it was and how amazing the food was. All the favours and set up was done exactly to our asking, and the room looked amazing. I can't give enough credit to all the staff at Clayton Hotel, from Debbie to the food and beverage manager to the staff working behind the bar and even on breakfast the next morning, everyone was so lovely, friendly and just couldn't do enough for us. They are all a genuine credit to your hotel. Both of us work in the industry, not in weddings, but the hospitality. What we saw and received was second to none, and I wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend to any of our friends and families getting married in the future. Well, people especially loved this! They said it was so nice to sit together in the one space and relax while enjoying the food and drink that was provided.
The space was comfortable and there was no shortage of food or drink.
The function room looked fabulous, and the meal was outstanding. The food was piping hot, so tasty and plentiful. The staff were helpful and attentive at all times, and couldn't do enough for us.
We danced the night away once the band got going, and honestly, we had a really fabulous day and night.

Hotel for a couples special day, because they were fantastic. We genuinely cannot find any fault with the service we received. The food was amazing and very well presented. All staff were extremely attentive from start to finish, we would like to give an extra special shout out to our wedding coordinator Debbie. Debbie listened to us from the very start, all our desires were taken on board and Debbie made sure that on the day all of our wishes were carried out to the highest standard. She was very professional with a friendly and warm approach. The day ran like a fine oiled machine, without a single glitch. Debbie made our day very easy and stress free. We feel that the attention to detail, to us as a couple and to our guests made our day extra enjoyable, not just for us but for all of our family and friends too. She really is an asset to the Clayton. We are still having amazing feedback from family and friends. We write this review almost 3 weeks after our wedding, and we can honestly say it is still a major point of conversation with family and friends. notice due to Covid-19 and had to reduce our numbers for our August date. Karina and The Clayton were extremely understanding and accommodating. They made an already stressful time so much easier. Anything they could do to help, they did. Karina was in constant contact and put us at ease. We rescheduled for August, and thankfully it was able to go ahead with 50 guests. We’re delighted we went ahead with it. Our wedding was but this meant we got to speak to all the guests and spend time with them.

Karina had many ideas and suggestions. She was a great sounding board to test our own ideas for the day. We were apprehensive about how the celebrations would go given the restrictions, but looking back now, we honestly feel that it had little or no impact. All the guests felt safe and reassured, which allowed everyone to enjoy themselves fully. Everything went even better than planned. It was an amazing day and more than we could have ever hoped for. The guests had a brilliant time and are still full of praise for the hotel and how the celebrations went. It was the first wedding in the hotel after reopening, and they were incredible. They were determined to make it a memorable day for us, and they certainly did that. It was a big success. The ballroom was beautifully decorated, careful attention paid to lighting, chair coverings and minute details I’d never even think of. In terms of accommodation, the rooms are modern and spacious, and the Presidential suite had to be seen to be believed.

The food was exceptional and plentiful. It really was fine dining. We had several guests with specific dietary requirements (allergies, vegetarian, vegan), all of which were catered for without issue. Guests still comment to us about the lovely food, and a number of them have already been back for an overnight stay and meal in The Clayton. The service was fantastic, all of the staff were friendly and efficient. Special mention to Carmel, she was so kind and helpful, always available for any queries and overseeing the service to ensure everything was running smoothly. There was nothing we could fault or would wish to change about the day. The staff at the Clayton made it. They’re incredible. Everyone we met was friendly, polite and professional. Karina is a credit to the hotel, she went above and beyond, and it was an absolute pleasure dealing with her. to get married in. From the minute we met her, Karina put us at ease with her professionalism and reassurance. Our original wedding date was set for March 2020. However, Covid had other plans, and we had to postpone at very short notice when restrictions took effect. This was very new for us, Karina and the staff at the Clayton, but they couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating.

When our special day eventually came around, everything went exactly as we would have hoped. I couldn't have imagined our day any other way, even if there was no pandemic. Karina and Clayton pulled out all the stops to ensure our day was as happy and memorable as possible. They went above and beyond on all aspects, and nothing was too much trouble. Looking back now, I wouldn't change a thing. Even our guests still comment on how great a day it was.

The ballroom was beautifully decorated. The personalised menus were a popular talking point for guests, and the food got 5-star reviews all around. The staff were incredible, and the service was friendly and attentive - There was never an empty glass!

I would highly recommend the Clayton to any couple, so much, so a friend has recently booked their big day in the Clayton in 2022! A massive thank you again to the hotel, the staff and Karina for making our day so memorable!

us. I have to mention especially Karina Duffy! I cannot praise this lady enough! she was constantly with us through this extremely tough year. Constant emails and encouraging texts throughout the new legislation and constantly changing restrictions. We ended up having a smaller wedding than we had planned, but it was honestly the best day of our lives. I have to mention Noel as well. We had our tasting with him and again we were made feel so welcome and all our fears and questions were answered quickly and professionally. I honestly don't think these people get paid enough! wedding was effortless with Karina handling everything to do with the reception that we asked. She provided timely reminders when we had to decide on certain elements and never made the experience feel overwhelming.

When the restrictions were announced the panic and dismay we felt was so overwhelming. We didn't know what to do whether to proceed with the wedding or cancel but the calming reassurance of Karina in the Clayton was exactly what we needed!

Karina, our wedding coordinator, met with us only a few hours after the measures were announced and her smile and warmth and reassurance eased our anxiety straight away. She made us feel it wasn't all doom and gloom and our wedding can still go ahead even with lower numbers and that we would have the day we always planned.

Every member of staff from the receptionists to the waitresses and bar staff in the Clayton Hotel made us feel so special. The Clayton made us and our guests feel so safe even with the new covid restrictions in place and most of all everyone was smiling and laughing and COVID19 was a distant memory (for the day at least).

The food was impeccable, the service was incredible, the décor of the venue was amazing but what makes this venue the perfect choice for wedding is not just the food and the atmosphere but it's amazing staff and how they make your wedding day as their number 1 priority.

We wouldn't change any aspect of the day except if we could do it again!

the Clayton everything fell into place: Karina literally made the whole process so enjoyable; from advice on suppliers, decor of the room, brilliant tips and tricks for the day itself, food and wine recommendations - every single tiny detail was covered. at all deprived or like we were missing out in any way, shape or form. Karina and her team gave as much effort and attention to our small wedding of 40 guests as she did back when it was 180.

We had the best weekend of our lives. The food was DIVINE! We all danced the night away and had the best craic, it was absolutely magical and so, so special. The wedding team were so accommodating and no request or question was too much for them. Any specification or request we had when it came to dancing, food, vendors, decorations, music, or anything at all was - without haste - met with enthusiasm. They even helped organise a screening of small video compilation from family members and friends who couldn't make it, completely unbeknownst to us!

I just want to say that we have no regrets in sticking with our original date with reduced numbers. Our guests were absolutely delighted to have something to look forward to and really enjoyed the night out. It felt so special and intimate, and we were absolutely blown away with the entire experience. I just know that these memories will last a lifetime; and The Clayton Hotel, in no small part, played a big role in this.

Their team adhered to the guidelines absolutely perfectly and we were able to have an enjoyable wedding and a great time without feeling like we were in anyway at risk. They have the balance of safety and hospitality down to a tee.

Both of us would absolutely recommend The Clayton as a venue for your wedding. Their wedding coordinator Karina Duffy is a treasure and a credit to the hotel.

Also, in terms of accommodation, the Presidential Suite is just something you have to experience!

these things that make it a home, It is the people who live in that house that make it a home. The Clayton Hotel can to be likened to this. It was the staff that made our day, so special. We first met the staff of the Clayton the year previously at my brother’s wedding. Their effortless way of keeping the whole day running smoothly was amazing. They were so pleasant to all their guests and spend the day ensuring that not only the bride and groom had a great day, but that every guest did. This was our first time at a wedding in the Clayton and it was on this experience that we booked our wedding there within days of my brother’s wedding. Upon first meeting Karina, I knew that this lady knew her job inside and out, and most importantly for us, she was not doing a sales pitch. She got to understand what type of people we are, so she could fully understand what we wanted for our day. She really wanted to ensure we got what we wanted for our day, not what she thought we needed. Throughout the year, I called on her for advice, which was invaluable. On the day, it was her and Carmel Walsh we saw first at the hotel to greet us, and not with a wave or a hand shake, but with a genuine hug, that made me know that they were really happy for us. It was like we were the first wedding they ever had there, as their excitement and enthusiasm was evident, which is so important as they made it all about us. Both of these ladies could not do enough for us and were so mindful of us all day.

The guests are still raving about the quality if the food, and the endless amounts of seconds. They too could not complement the staff enough.

simply top class! we couldn't of asked for a better team to look after our big day! The food was amazing, everybody was so happy about it, those who stayed love the comfort of their rooms.the service was impeccable, they have an amazing ability to create a relaxed atmosphere while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. at wedding fair we knew this was the place where we would like to celebrate our special day! We had been at Clayton hotel for a special friend’s wedding, and we couldn't get over how beautiful set up was at Clayton also food was unbelievably tasty. This was big plus for us!!
Karina is truly amazing at what she does, she helped us guided true all process step by step. Throughout hundreds of e-mails, phone calls, visits to hotel, for our food tasting till we checked out we were treated like royalty!
The food and service on our wedding day was perfect!! We had so many finger food and canapes on arrival nobody was hungry. We also had 2am food which we got complimented from our guests. Unbelievable meal, fast service, most friendly staff. Stunning flowers, table set ups and all the little details our day was absolutely fantastic in Clayton hotel. Your wedding day does go in a blink of eye and Karina advised us to sit back, relax and enjoy every moment and not be worried about anything, that she was there for us to take care of everyone and to make sure all our guests was happy and having good time at our wedding. And this is what we did, we enjoyed every single second of it!! Everything went absolutely flawless!! Our guests are still talking about how wonderful time they had at Clayton.

we did not need to look any further. The staff are all so friendly and their laid back approach made us so relaxed on our wedding day. wedding. We always experienced a hotel that had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, yet one that was also really professional. Of course, we had attended weddings in the Clayton prior to our visit so this wonderful environment came as no surprise to us.

The main person in the hotel for us is the wedding co-ordinator, Karina Duffy. From the moment we met her we knew she was going to make our day so special. She was a huge support to the two of us throughout the two years and was always at the end of the phone, or answering an email, whenever we needed her, no matter what the question was! She works so hard to make your day so special and personal. She became a friend to us throughout the entire time of the wedding preparations.

On our wedding day Karina and the staff of the hotel could not have done enough. They followed our requests to the last, and even added in lots of special surprise touches for us on the day, little touches that really made our day even better. We could not recommend the Clayton Hotel enough to any couple looking for a wedding venue. Our guests are still talking about the excellent service, unbelievable meal, speed of service (especially notable considering we had a big wedding), comfortable bedrooms and friendly staff that they experienced at the Clayton Hotel.

request was too big or too small and every member of staff we dealt with were true professionals and a credit to the hotel. As well as Karina, in the run up to the big day so many of them helped us - Sarah who was on hand to deal with the room booking queries, Joe, Anne and Alex who looked after us for our menu tasting and Noel who so willingly took us through the ceiling light options so we could decide on our colour scheme. On the day itself we were greeted at the front door by Karina and treated like royalty and this continued until we checked out two days later. Carmel, Davy and all the banquet staff took fantastic care of us and our guests during the meal and the ballroom was set up so beautifully with such attention to detail. to be a party to celebrate our big day with all our friends and family. The Clayton came highly recommended to us as a number of our friends had gotten married in the hotel over the previous years and couldn’t compliment the staff and venue enough.
When we met with Karina to discuss our ideas she was so easy to talk to and so enthusiastic. Karina put us at such ease and was so lovely to work with that we couldn’t not have her in-volved in our wedding day. Karina was happy to meet with us as little or often as we wanted and was always on the end of the line or an email of we had any queries. The run up to the day was effortless, our food tasting evening was fabulous. The chef spent so much time with us going over our food options that we almost knew every ingredient in each dish.
The day itself was just amazing, from the minute we landed at the door of the hotel the par-ty was in full swing. The staff were superb, so polite and helpful and again, nothing was a problem. We had nothing to worry about once we got to the hotel until we checked out 3 days later (it was so good we stayed an extra night). From the 320 dinners that were served on the day to the plate of fresh sandwiches waiting in our bridal suit at 5.00am that morn-ing, the food was just superb.
Thank you Karina and all the staff of the Clayton Hotel for giving us a brilliant day and night. One of the best days of our lives.

From the planning of different menus to the tastings and help from the chefs nothing was too much trouble, and their advice and guidance was outstanding when creating the perfect menu for us. The food and service on the day was superb and our guests are still talking about it. We also held our ceremony and first look in the hotel, Karina was amazing at finding the perfect place in the hotel for this to work and it sure did work it was just magical. We felt like we were the most important people in the hotel for the few days we were staying there. We will forever be thankful to Karina and all the staff at the clayton for giving us our dream wedding we just wish we could do it all over again.

whole day was flawless. From the day we booked our wedding, you made everything very easy and carefree for us. On the day itself I never had to think or worry about the details as you and your team looked after everything so well.
We had an absolute ball and so did our guests. Everyone commented on how nice the food was and how friendly and efficient the staff were.

but thankfully Karina is truly gifted at what she does & guided us through the process. Through endless emails exchanged, a visit to Galway to taste our menu choices (many thanks to Clare for 5* service!), up until we checked out of the Hotel after the wedding, we really were treated like royalty. The special touches on the day left both ourselves, and our guests, in awe. The bar staff & waiting staff were flawless, the food & beer was impeccable, and the venue was dressed to perfec-tion. wedding. We always experienced a hotel that had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, yet one that was also really professional. Of course, we had attended weddings in the Clayton prior to our visit so this wonderful environment came as no surprise to us.
The main person in the hotel for us is the wedding co-ordinator, Karina Duffy. From the moment we met her we knew she was going to make our day so special. She was a huge support to the two of us throughout the two years and was always at the end of the phone, or answering an email, whenever we needed her, no matter what the question was! She works so hard to make your day so special and personal. She became a friend to us throughout the entire time of the wedding preparations.
On our wedding day Karina and the staff of the hotel could not have done enough. They followed our requests to the last, and even added in lots of special surprise touches for us on the day, little touches that really made our day even better. We could not recommend the Clayton Hotel enough to any couple looking for a wedding venue. Our guests are still talking about the excellent service, unbelievable meal, speed of service (especially notable considering we had a big wedding), comfortable bedrooms and friendly staff that they experienced at the Clayton Hotel. We would not change a single thing about the day or the Hotel. We had the best day of our lives and much of that is down to Karina and the team at the Clayton Hotel.

beyond our expectations. Guests raved about the food on arrival, the sweet cart and the dinner. Even the punch received rave reviews!! When guests went into the reception room, they said it was like something out of a fairy tale, absolutely magical!
Karina and all the staff and management at the Clayton Hotel Galway made the entire bridal party feel like they were VIPs for the day, knowing all of us by name and looking after each one of us from the moment we arrived to the minute we all checked out.

come true. My husband and I got married in December 2016, and it was the most amazing day/weekend of both our lives! From our first meeting with Karina, we were put at ease and made feel very comfortable and stress free about the idea of planning such a big event. The whole team have genuinely been the biggest pleasure to deal with, no ask has been too big or small. Leading up to the wedding day itself Karina was amazing. I struggled with relinquishing control to someone else. Little did we know, Karina almost knew more of the finite details of our reception than we did! Jonathan, his groomsmen and his family stayed in the hotel the night before the wedding and so many of the guests had wonderful things to say. They had some of their professional photos taken in the reception area and the energy there was fantastic apparently. We arrived and were given the red carpet treatment and it was amazing to see all our friends and family in great spirits. Our guests said the rooms were fantastic and commented how friendly and welcoming the staff were. My husband and I were made to feel the most special and important people in the world. All our guests were seated and we were announced as Mr and Mrs to our entrance song which got everyone up dancing as we entered the room! All the staff were fantastic in making us all at ease and making sure that we were having the time of our lives, we didn't have time to worry about anything else! The food was AMAZING and really did live up to its reputation! The only negative about the whole weekend in The Clayton Hotel Galway was.... We had to leave on Monday morning! Thank you so much for the most wonderful weekend, one we will never forget!

world knowing that wedding co- ordination Karina Duffy had all in hand. All details were fine tuned and the room where we had our civil ceremony was so beautifully decorated considering I don't like flowers it was done to perfection with candles, ribbons and of course the red carpet. We were treated like royalty and we have never felt so famous as we did that weekend. All our guests were delighted with everything which was all we wanted. Before and during dinner Paul was back and forth making sure we wanted for nothing and we totally relaxed. I would highly recommend the Clayton for any event and thanks a million for making our day/weekend so special.

reception you guys put on is still being talked about by friends and family. The décor, the food, and in particular the staff were beyond brilliant and there is nothing that wasn't perfect. We can't thank you enough.

A special mention for Paul who was simply outstanding on the day, every time either of us turned around, he was there being attentive but completely unobtrusive. He was absolutely brilliant and you're lucky to have him.

like putting the purple petals EVERYWHERE - the poor staff must have been dreaming about purple petals that night:)!! The location of the candy cart that was completely emptied and the amazing presentation of our meal with the cloches - everybody including ourselves were seriously impressed. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the service was spectacular. Paul and David were amazing - I felt so well looked after and really enjoyed my day as a result of their continuous support. Everyone (both Tipperary and Galway guests) felt like they were treated like royalty all day by all of the hotel staff. We were so so happy with our choice of hotel and by all of the work you did for our wedding day Karina. We have been recommending the hotel to everybody since our big day and will continue to do so in the future.
I hope you are keeping well and not working too hard!! Apologies again for the delay in getting back to you.

ran extremely smoothly and we had nothing to worry about. We were greeted at the front door by Karina and the staff and from that moment on, we were completely at ease, knowing that everyone and everything would be looked after. The food was of an excellent quality and many of our guest commented on it afterwards. Our guests were also extremely impressed with the Clayton itself, the rooms, the decor and the cleanliness. The staff were first-class, wonderfully friendly and very efficient.

I cannot praise Karina and the staff of the Clayton enough. Our wedding day was absolutely fantastic and we will never forget how wonderful the Clayton looked when we arrived and how good the staff were to us. Thanks you so much!!

We could tell straight away why the Clayton Hotel had won so many awards.

The food was outstanding on the day. We had guests coming up to us saying how tasty and how much food they got at the champagne reception. Our meal and evening food was fabulous. I can’t compliment the waiters enough. They made sure all the guests were happy and even before the head waiter who was severing the top table left for the evening he checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed and also to let us know he was leaving for the night. This was huge compliment to me and my husband.

We wish we could do the day all over again. I can definitely say it was the BEST DAY of our lives!!! Once again thank you for making our day so amazing. We still have people telling us how great the venue, staff and food was.

couldn't have asked for more. Not only did we notice how amazing all the staff in the Clayton are so did a number of our guests. People have been coming up to us telling us how much they enjoyed the wedding and how friendly and helpful all the staff where, from the reception staff to the ballroom staff. One of the reception staff even fixed my bridesmaids dress when the button popped!! The food and wine were fantastic and everyone raved about it.

Karina thank you so much for everything you and the Clayton staff did for us. You made our wedding a day we will never forgot. We will definitely be back to the Clayton in the not to distant future.

Karina was always on hand to answer any questions we had throughout the planning, from accommodating any additional requests we had to making suggestions for all the decisions that went into making our day so special.

Valerie never seems to stops smiling and nothing we wanted was ever a hassle for her. Cathal's easy going nature put us and our wedding party completely at ease on the big day itself and steering us through all the formalities of the day.

Since the wedding we have heard nothing but positive things from our guests about the Hotel. The food and drinks on arrival was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the meal was just amazing. Everyone has complimented the service, the beauty of the hotel and the beautiful guest rooms.

We cannot recommend The Clayton Hotel Galway highly enough and are just sorry we can't have the day all over again!

I can honestly say that I never had a moments concern from The Clayton Hotel and felt 100% comfortable and confident in them from the outset. I would highly recommend them to any couple considering this hotel as their wedding venue.

was always bubbly and passionate about her job and a pleasure to deal with. Even at our menu tasting we felt like VIP’s with a personalised menu and a waitress assigned to us for the night. It was little things like that which made all the difference in the wedding preparations and reinforced the reason why we picked the Clayton. On the day everything was perfect, from the beautiful flower and candle arrangements lining the stairs to the elegant set up of the ballroom. We could not have asked for more. And those who stayed in the hotel only had positive things to say about the quality of the bedrooms – including ourselves – the bridal suite was fab!!
The food was simply delicious, from the tasty jam scones and cookies at the welcoming reception to the dinner itself - large portions, hot and well timed, and those roasted vegetables were the best I’ve ever had! Nobody could have complained that they were hungry afterwards.
While our main point of contact was Karina, we know there were so many others behind the scenes who worked to pull everything together, in particular Cathal, Valerie and Nora. Indeed all the staff looked after our guests like they were family and we were so happy with not only their warmth and enthusiasm but the professionalism shown at all times. The one comment that kept coming through from our guests was “they could not have done enough for us”.
We have no hesitation in recommending the Clayton any couple who is looking for a wedding venue. You will be hard pushed to find a team who is so willing to work with you and the hotel’s top notch service.

and coming up with innovative ways to make our ideas for our wedding day become reality. Having been to other weddings and events in the Clayton before, we were familiar with their excellent hospitality, stylish décor, efficient and friendly staff, and wonderful food – but it wasn’t until we were planning our own wedding that we realised what professional service and good value they offered as well! The location was perfect as it was on the outskirts of the city centre: easy to get to, plenty of parking, and a fantastic base for our out of town guests to enjoy the sights of Galway. We were sold! In the months leading up to our wedding, Karina met with us on several occasions to go through the planning and ensure every detail was covered. All of our requests, no matter how big or small, were listened to and dealt with, it felt so effortless organising such a big event (we had 300 guests!)
The day itself could not have gone better. The ballroom looked magical, beautifully lit up and decorated with floral centrepieces, candelabras, lanterns and tea lights. Our ideas for some unique touches had been transformed into reality, and even better than we could have imagined. Everything we asked for was remembered in detail, and presented so magnificently. Karina also helped us organise our "after party" on the next day, transforming the ballroom from an elegant wedding reception venue into a different space altogether for a laid back BBQ and disco. She definitely has a bit of magic at her fingertips! We are so pleased that we held our wedding celebration in the Clayton hotel, it was definitely the right choice! Many thanks again for everything.
