We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue for our big day. Everything from the decor to the staff, management and food was perfect. The manager Linda went over and beyond for us, even scrubbing my dress clean when it got mucky outside!! We arrived to a red carpet reception and Linda …

greeted us with a glass of bubbly and took our umbrellas off us while we went to get a few photos. We received a first class service on the day as did our guests, lots of people are still raving about our wedding at the Four Seasons Carlingford. Linda made the whole organising process very easy and nothing was too much bother, the hotel are very good and easy to work with, we negotiated a few little extras in our wedding package which made all the difference! The food was amazing and was served efficiently (despite the speeches running way over time), all dietary requirements were catered for. People got second, and in some cases, third helpings for dinner! The room was set up perfectly and just as I imagined, including favours, photo table, sweet table and cake boxes. The kids favours and colouring books were set out correctly as well which they enjoyed and kept them entertained the whole night. The hotel even printed out additional photos for the tables to fit in with our Christmas table plan. Linda was great at advising where to set up different stations - e.g. photo booth, caricature, band, sweet table and guest book table. Linda also assisted the grooms family in setting up a screen to play a surprise wedding video for myself & my husband, we were none the wiser! Linda was very proactive in helping us box up and carry out our belongings on the day we left. We were also allowed to book the bridal suite for the second night as we were staying the full weekend.
Prior to the big day, we were invited up to a menu tasting which included a glass or two of wine, we really enjoyed that and meeting Linda to go through everything in fine detail. We originally had a different wedding planner who left, so we were a little concerned about who would be taking on organising our wedding, but Linda really pulled it out of the bag and she was brilliant from start to finish.
In our wedding package, we were offered an overnight stay for 2 with breakfast plus hot stone massage for our 1st wedding anniversary and we are so excited to go back to the Four Seasons!!

I found it so useful as they were able to advise us and recommend ideas for our wedding which was so useful as they know what works well- eg postbox , layout for rooms, they gave me table plan layout and printed it out also which was fantastic bonus and advice regarding timings for the day etc . From the time we booked up until our wedding day we had great communication from Linda and nothing was ever a bother. I particularly felt at ease on our wedding day as it ran so smoothly and anything that needed to be done she took care of it without us even knowing which is great as we had no worries. We loved having entertainment downstairs pre-meal and everyone complimented the appetisers in particular chocolate covered strawberries.... everyone loved their food and we had guests who were vegans who were also well catered for. Since the renovations recently the room looks fabulous and table decorations were all provided by the hotel. It is also lovely to be so close to Carlingford to enjoy some post wedding festivities also. From start to finish it was a true pleasure to have had our wedding here..... it is a fabulous hotel and with friendly attentive staff, delicious food, stunning location and setting in Carlingford. A great piece of advice given to me for the wedding was to take 5 mins together to enjoy and take it all in.... and my memory is sitting in the hotel bar singing ‘the leaving of Liverpool With the band ‘ with the bridal party only before we went for dinner.... so my tip is to take those 5 mins on your special day to Enjoy it x

They provided professional babysitting services for the wedding guests as required when booked in advance which we used for our youngest which allowed us to relax knowing that he was only down the hall. They helped us organise a candy area for the children and had colouring book/activity packs for all children at the tables to keep them entertained and always remained within our budget by tweeking things to suit. The honeymoon suite was fabulous as was all the guest rooms. The next morning even the breakfast was to perfection. We have only fond memories now that will last a lifetime and are looking forward to going back to celebrate our anniversary shortly. My only regret is that you only get to do your big day once!!! Guest to discuss what we were looking for and before we left the hotel that day we had booked our provisional wedding date. We planned our wedding from Dublin so a lot of our contact was done via e-mail and it worked a treat. We always knew Rachael was on the other end of the phone day or night if we needed her for anything! The planning really was plain-sailing the whole way.

The day itself went off without a glitch. It turned into a weekend of fun as the majority of the guests arrived down the night before and a lot didn't check out until the Monday after the wedding!! The staff at the hotel couldn't have done enough for everyone. They were professional, accommodating and generous with their time.

Rachael and her team literally thought of everything and left no stone unturned from making sure I had my suitcase in the hotel the night before to talking to specific guests about their dietary concerns before the day itself. We worked off what was known as 'The Wedding Bible' which proved to be amazing. Every detail from the whole day was covered in this document. It contained the exact layout of the day, contact numbers etc so there was never any confusion on the day whatsoever. The food was amazing on the day as well as the whole weekend.

I can't recommend the four seasons hotel in Carlingford enough if you are thinking of getting married here.

As we planned our wedding from the UK, we were very grateful for the adaptable timescale on things like food tasting. The Four Seasons were happy for us to hold meetings and have our food tasting at a time that suited us and this made life much easier from a planning perspective.

I visited the spa the week before the wedding and received a lovely dish of strawberries and chocolate as a pre-wedding treat. This was a lovely touch and really helped to connect the spa and the venue for me.

I was hesitant about booking our wedding venue without seeing the final function room (we booked prior to the re-design in January 2016) but my husband convinced me it would be beautiful and I trusted his judgment. We live in New York and planning a wedding with the Atlantic Ocean in between seemed daunting but Megan and her staff did everything and anything in their power to ensure we had a great day. The entire staff helped me plan my big day and I am extremely grateful to each and every person at the Four Seasons who answered all of my e-mails and phone calls as there were MANY. The few times we traveled to Ireland before the big day we went to the hotel for an in-person catch up and they would remind you of catching up with a long lost friend. another couple jumping on the production line of the 'wedding factory'. So when walked up the paved steps surrounded by the beautiful scenic views, we were greeted with bright, sincere smiles. As we waited, we were chatted to by the service staff about football, the weather- to be honest the craic was great! During the meeting we were given band recommendations, tips and hints that I had never thought of. My fiancé and I left that meeting feeling like Megan was so excited for our wedding! Her genuine enthusiasm that day and the friendly feel in the hotel made our decision very easy. We had the wedding booked and deposit in within 12 hours.
Was it the right decision? Absolutely!!Even at the tasting session I was not only bowled over by the food- which was out of this world, but the behaviour of the young staff blew me away. We had our (restless) three year old with us. They took him colouring pages and crayons, got his favourite food- goujons-cooked and brought them down. They crouched down as they gave him the tomato sauce, chatting amiably all the time. To the extent that by the time he got his ice cream, he thought he had three new friends as they were on first name terms!
The staff were always there to help with any wedding problem. The night before my wedding I called them at 2am to fix tableplans- 'not a problem Corinna'- their response to nearly every request.
Would I recommend as a wedding venue? Definitely!
My guests were so impressed by the cosy atmosphere in the hotel, the very friendly staff as well as the exquisite food. The decor of the room amazed them.
The Four Seasons Hotel definitely helped make my wedding the success it was. A perfect venue.

They planned every last detail for us, the venue on the day was immaculate, friends and family commented that is was the best food they had every had at a wedding. The staff were so friendly and helpful, this is something that guests commented on also.

Everyone loved the four seasons that much that lots of family members have already been back for an overnight stay, even though we were only married 6 months ago. We were back ourselves at the weekend, staff recognised us and asked how we were getting on.

I honestly couldn't speak highly enough of the four seasons and the staff, we are absolutely delighted we chose to have our wedding there.

many emails in the run up to the wedding which really made the planning all the easier. I appreciated this in the last few weeks especially given that they had a wedding EVERYDAY for almost 3weeks before my wedding. On the day everything was just perfect! No evidence of the many previous weddings. We were running a little late but it didn't phase them and they were happy to accommodate. Greeted with a glass of champagne and a photo, I was amazed to find this used for the personalised wedding menus! Now that's quick service. The meal was fantastic & service impeccable. Mairead was even kind enough to keep the top table posted on the Armagh score, from the Ulster semi-final replay, throughout the meal. All of my guests thoroughly enjoyed their dinner with quite a few commenting on the chocolate cups specifically. A swift and flawless turnaround for the evening reception was a credit to the professionalism and experience of the staff. The best was to come for me as I took this time to nip down to the bridal suite for a snoop. WOW!! I'm not sure if this was a new addition since we had booked or if they like to keep it a surprise for the day. Regardless, we were blown away! Luxurious. The whole day was a success start to finish and was further enhanced with complimentary use of the health suite to freshen up in the morning followed by a barbecue with our guests on a gloriously sunny day in the beautiful garden area. I honestly felt like we were the most important people in Carlingford that weekend! It really was pure luxury at outstanding value! The room in which the reception was held was spacious and had loads of room for dancing. once we had booked our wedding, every time we visited the hotel or had any quieries regarding the wedding the staff was always helpful and made us feel at ease. We knew on the day of the wedding we would have nothing to worry about. On the day of our wedding the service was excellent, there was plenty of staff on and the food was gorgeous - hot and full of flavour. There was nothing we could have complained about and each of our guests commented on how good the service and food was. Caroline and Mairead, two managers were present all day at our wedding from we arrived until it finished and was willing to do anything we needed. The next day we had the BBQ included in our package and 80 people was there. This large number was not a problem to the hotel and again the food was served hot and there was plenty for everyone. Thanks to the Four Seasons myself and my husband had a wondeful day as did all our guests. Infact some of our friends have since booked their wedding there after being at ours. We are so grateful to the staff at the four seasons for making our day so special. - Fantastic hotel - great food , fantastic service both for food and in the bar, excellant location, gorgeous setting and garden for photos.

If there was more stars than a 5* I would be rating this hotel 10*. The hotel was 1st class from the day we booked r wedding until the day we got married. Nothing was a problem to them. Anytime we called up without informing them they had time for us with the 1st thing we were offered was …

tea/coffee. Any other venue we looked at we did not get this. R colour was different and they even researched it and Was fit to get it for the chair covers which was a nice memory. 3 weeks before we got married I had major surgery and was on crutches not fit to walk and they even had a stole under the table for me to put my leg up on while we were having r meal which I don't think anywhere else would have done this for me, both families couldn't believe that this was done for us when I told them. They made so much out of the little nieces and nephews at the wedding by letting them have what they wanted as in other venues we looked at this wasn't going to be the case. The night before the wedding we when up to drop stuff of at the hotel and they even give us a room to leave bags in for stuff to do with wedding instead of been left behind reception for anyone to see what it was. The morning after r wedding we had an outstanding breakfast delivered to the bridal suite and there was enough to feed the whole wedding again along with champagne. We also had a bbq the day after which was beautiful and we stayed in the hotel to around 3.30pm and we were made so welcome. When paying the balance of the bill we didn't have to question anything as it was correct. As for those that stayed the night of r wedding they have all said they would be going back to stay and a few couples to have there reception here. If I was to do it again I would be going back. The grounds of the hotel also have a beautiful setting which we were the able to get all our family pictures taken. always one step ahead. Lots of our guests arrived from Wexford and were over-whelmed by Carlingford itself with its natural beauty and character. We received great feedback from our guests on the attention to detail and the quality of the food, with many saying they would hope to return again. The hotel itself is within walking distance of the historic medieval town of Carlingford, which provided us with a wealth of options for our wedding photos, from the spectacular lakeside scenery, to the Cooley Mountains backdrop or the Medieval ruins of king John’s Castle. Needless to say we got some great shots.

We couldn't recommend The Four Seasons highly enough for a wedding venue, you will not be disappointed and will come away with wonderful memories from the day, just as we did.

do enough for us. Living in England and planning a wedding in Carlingford was made easy and enjoyable thanks to the help and support from the team.

The dressing of the room and tables, waiting and bar staff and food was first class. We were lucky enough to take 62 friends and family across from England to join our Irish family on the day. They all commented on how impressed they were and how personalised the service was tailored to us.

Everything down to the last detail was perfect, we could not have asked for more. Attention to detail was fantastic, even on the day - I had taken a heart shape umbrella for my photographs, with everything going on I had completely forgotten about it, until John realised I didn't have the umbrella and brought it to me. This only sounds like a little thing but it meant a lot as we managed to get some lovely photos using it.

The hotel remains a very special place to us. We visit every time we are over and the staff still make us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone who is getting married.

The evening before the wedding anything could be left down and once again John was on hand to help out iwth the details, show us how the room had be already set out and talk through the day and plans once again with us.
Our wedding reception there could not have been more perfect, as soon as we walked in John was serving the champagne and simply took over from then on, we didnt have another thing to think about. The organised the guests getting tot he room, found people we wanted for the photos and we were able to mingle and chat to our guests. He made the day stress free. Our guests were made so feel so welcome by every staff member.
The food was also amazing, every single guest commented on it. It came out piping hot and lovely.

The enxt day BBQ was also a massive hit with our guests.

I simply could not put down in words how wonderful this place is, evey detail is covered for you. It really is the most perfect wedding venue anyone could have.

From the onset they went out of their way to get to know us and were so helpful and accommodating to us and our entire wedding party - nothing was a bother and everything was so personal yet professional. And their few words of wisdom certainly did make us feel that they knew exactly what they were doing which really put us at ease. On booking our wedding for the 14th July 2013 with the FSHC hotel we immediately knew we had made the …

absolute right decision. We were blown away by the level of professionalism and hospitality they extended to us when booking the day. The warm homely feeling the hotel portrayed inspired us immediately to pick the Four Seasons Carlingford as our wedding venue – we just knew our guest would just fell right at home, and that’s exactly what we wanted.
The quality and attention to detail that was shown to us from our first meeting right up until the actual day was astounding. First off John the wedding planner and all his staff are a real asset to the hotel and were completely attentive to our individual needs and wants for our wedding. He listened to our vision for the day with an exact amount of enthusiasm and offered his years of experience and advice to our planning which in the long run became so critical to our planning.
Our vision from the very start was to have a summer garden wedding with a difference and on explaining this to our very dedicated wedding planner John at our first meeting was met with an enthusiasm we had not experienced anywhere else that we had visited and literally no job was too big or too small for that matter – the wedding planner even guaranteed the weather to come with it (which we got.. a barmy 30C may I add).
During the run up to our wedding on a number of occasions the staff at the Four Seasons facilitated our meetings by even coming to us. We live in Dublin so as a gesture to make our lives easier the staff offered to come meet us - this is certainly something I don’t think any other hotel could even begin to offer and I know this was an exceptional facility to extend to us and it helped hugely in the run up to the big day. John made us genuinely feel like ours was the only wedding ever to be held at the Four Seasons Carlingford.
Our wedding ceremony was held in the beautiful Gardens at the hotel and our meal for the evening was a barbeque buffet, which was exactly as we have envisioned for our special day and more. It tied in with our goal of creating a real different type of wedding and enabled us to portray both our personalities and a laid back approach while keeping the day very intimate and special.
The presentation of the food to our guests that evening was delightful and really impressed all our guests. Something of which to be honest we are still hearing about from our family and friends, they were just blown away by the quality of the food, particularly the marinated grilled Salmon!!! The variety of food on the menu, the quality and taste of each item and course was just beautiful and in fact it was described by our guests as one of the best meals they had a wedding.
I was particularly impressed by the amount of care that went into looking after me the morning of the wedding while getting ready in the Hotel. John the wedding planner literally attended to our every need and even showered us with Champagne and kind encouraging words at a time when nerves where indeed high, in fact I could go as far as saying the day just wouldn’t have been the same without John there. I will remember John every time I think of our wedding and how he made our day. It even became so obvious to all our guests that day how dedicated John was to creating the perfect day for myself and Declan and they even sang his praises all day.

I could literally write all day on the level of detail that was extended to our big day but unfortunately I have limited space to do so, so to summarise……
A truly incredible place and staff and we just cannot wait to visit again for our one year anniversary and to see all the staff again. There is genuinely not one bad thing I could say about the Four Seasons Carlingford and I hope my words portray what an incredible bunch they really are. We had our wedding reception at the Four Seasons Carlingford this past July. I am from Canada, and Tomas is from Armagh, and we decided to have the wedding in Ireland, since we are now living in Canada.

I planned this wedding from overseas, but I'd been to a few weddings in Ireland and one of …

them happened to be at FSHC; after that I knew exactly what venue I wanted - there was no competition. I didn't even shop around, I knew from the moment we got engaged where I wanted to hold our reception, and luckily for us they didn't disappoint! We are now the third wedding in Tomas' family to be held at FSHC.

Every moment of our day at FSHC was absolutely perfect. John, our wedding planner saw us through everything with ease, a little bit of humour, and the utmost professionalism. Majella and Mairaed answered hundreds of emails and took numerous long distance phone calls from myself, my parents, and our guests, answering all our queries, no matter how small, in a caring and informative way. We had over 60 guests come from Canada, and we are still hearing from them about what a great day they all thought it was - we were all particularly impressed with the food, absolutely top notch! We also got veeeery lucky with our weather, and the BBQ the next day was outstanding! We had far more guests stay than we ever anticipated, and the kitchen coped with this amazingly well; it was hard to believe there was another wedding taking place on that day too!!

If I could do it all over again, I would. In an instant, and I'd do it at the FSHC!!!

particular John the Wedding Manager. Right from the beginning they could not do enough to help us and the reservation staff were also excellent. I had to change the room allocations many times and each time I contacted the reservations staff they were so patient and helpful. Before the wedding we had our first meeting with John and it is an understatement to say he made us feel so relaxed about the whole experience and we had great banter too which was another important thing we wanted for our day. John was amazing and he helped us organise lots of bits and answered our many questions with patience too! On the actual day we were quite behind doing lots pictures and Marryoke shoots outside and John did not pressure us into getting into the Banquet room on time, he was very calming indeed among all the craziness. He was even around the next day to chat to us and make sure everything was ok which really was great. If you are thinking of having your wedding here we really would recommend it as the Seasons was a perfect location in Carlingford village, especially if you are making the weekend out of it as we did for our wedding and I imagine you will be looked after by the Four Seasons team very well indeed. On the day of the wedding we were getting our photos taking. My parents didn't have a clue where we were. And john being john the nice fella that he is, stopped what he was doing and took my parents in his car up to us. I couldn't thank him enough.

When we got into the hotel we couldn't believe how everything looked. The staff had done a brilliant job. Our quest couldn't get over how nice and friendly the staff where and the food was out of this world.

John could see that I was nervous for my speech, and helped me out with a few pointers and settled my nervous which was great.

When we had got up the next day we were gutted that it was all over. My friend Emma hyland is getting married in the Four Seasons in 2015. I keep going on and on to her mummy how brilliant the hotel and staff are and that she well have a unbelievable day.

I could keep going on but I just want to say, the whole day was brilliant,the staff was brilliant and thanks very much for an unforgettable day!!

In the immediate run up to our wedding, even with the busy festive season, Management always had time to answer any queries or just to calm a slightly frazzled bride. Nothing was impossible to John and his team! On our wedding day, John made sure that everything was kept running smoothly and efficiently, his reassuring presence meaning that myself and Paul could relax and enjoy spending our day with our family and friends. Attention to detail in the hotel is amazing, the function room is cosy and romantic and quickly adapts following the meal, ensuring that guests stay close to the action. And as for the meal, the food was just delicious, any kitchen that caters for a function and manages to maintain the standard consistently from the Top table to the last table served is just amazing! Unfortunately the weather on our wedding day was not great, so use of the fabulous grounds and surrounds was out, but there are plenty of places in the hotel to capture those memories. John could not have been more helpful. The room, food and service were all excellent, we are still hearing about the high standard of table service. John was absolutely brilliant on the day, we really didn't have anything to worry about. Everyone of the our guests had only good things to stay about the hotel, especially all who stayed in the hotel. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Four Seasons as a wedding venue. The meal was fantastic, excellent quality and service for food & drink was first class.
