Karen has a wealth of experience in providing a very personal but professional service which will make your wedding day the topic of conversation - long after your anniversary celebrations. From your first meeting with Karen you will be sure to have instilled a firm friendship - You and your partner will be able to sit back relax and enjoy, whilst we take the hassle out of the lead up to your special day.

Our splendid wedding room can accommodate comfortably large family weddings and can be adjusted to suitably hold personal and intimate family weddings.

When dressed our wedding room has a magical and royal feel to it. The Ivory linen, chair covers and gold sashes compliment the room beautifully. We have a few different centrepieces to choose from; gold or silver Candelabras for that extra sparkle & cherry blossom tree's. Couples are free to add favors, displays etc. to the room for their own unique experience but be sure that our basic set up has already got the WOW Factor.

Our top table sits high under a backdrop of sophisticated white drapes with sparkling fairy lights. Here, you along with your bridal party and parents can view all the guests whilst enjoying a top class food and beverage experience.

Our magical Room is set on the Rougey Cliff Walk where you are sure to get those important photographs that you will savor for years to come. The happy couple at Sunset has been the latest craze with the Atlantic Ocean lapping gently behind you.

From the moment your guests arrive our hospitality team aim to make sure it is as memorable for them as it is for the happy couple. Our friendly and professional staff are highly trained to provide an experience for all your guests. Our Team of Chefs will help build a menu to cater for all guests.

Our basic package includes many extra special gifts to you both. We had a large number of friends from abroad attending and we thought that the Great Northern with its excellent views and location made it a great venue for them to enjoy their time in Ireland and the cliff walk behind the hotel provided us with a stunning backdrop for our wedding photos. We visited many times in the build up to the wedding and we plan to visit many more times in the future as we had such a great time on each occasion.

The hotel had everything planned to perfection and walked us through all the details. In addition to it being our ideal venue it also provided great value for money.

So many things made it the perfect day - the food was amazing, the views were spectacular, the wedding room was big enough so that everyone could fill the dance floor but in particular Karen and the staff made it all so easy and enjoyful that we cannot thank them enough

I organised my wedding with Karen and her team from Sydney Australia. We got married in October and were home in Ireland for 3 weeks in May. Our time was precious and Karen ensured she did not take up much of it. We met with her in May and discussed our drinks reception, menu, themes etc. Anything …

we asked for we received from being allowed to add our own themes to the tables, build and create our own table plan right down to having our family tractor as part of it!
Karen spoke in detail about her plans in terms of timing, music, placing musicians on the day. She was able to remind me of things I would have forgot about due to her experience in planning and creating a day with no stone left unturned.
We entered the banquet room a few days before the wedding as I wanted to create the table plan myself. I was blown away with the decor, the chair covers, cherry blossoms on the tables, candelabras and the decor on the top table. This also looks amazing in my photos.
The food was exceptional and something people have spoke about since the wedding. The flavours and effort that went into the presentation of the food was outstanding. Again when meeting with Karen I spoke about the food choices that Kevin and I liked and preferred and she made it happen.
The staff from the weeks ahead when planning right until we left 2 days after the wedding could not do enough for Kevin, I and our families. They were welcoming, attentive, friendly and they were also the reason people have continued to talk about our wedding because of their service on the day but also the days after the wedding as they remembered guests, spoke about the day and attended to us with fabulous breakfasts and afternoon tea.
I can not thank Karen and the staff enough in the Great Northern for their efforts, time, listening and professionalism in making our wedding a day we will never forget. I highly recommend their service as anything I asked for was done without a problem.

If only I could do my wedding again in this place, I'd do it again! Karen and her staff were absolutely amazing. Karen and Lee helped husband and I preparing the wedding and made my dream wedding came true. Karen even gave me some tips to save money on the wedding such as: letting me create my own 5 …

flower bouquets and stored them in the hotel fridge (I mean how cool is that?!). She helped me taking my borrowed decorations from some friends and stored them in hotel one day before wedding, her team used the decorations pretty well in the wedding. Karen is a very smart woman, she took care of my family coming from overseas, done things I asked for example I want speech first and then dinner by 5:00 and etc etc etc so much details as I don't want my family be bored waiting for music that normally starts at 9:00 I made it to 7:30 on my wedding.

I used affordable photographer and videographer for my wedding and the scenery + hotel was just STUNNING! (Even Karen used the photo for the hotel marketing!) OMG these two duo photographer + videographer are just perfect match to the Great Northern Hotel. My videographer even made a vow he would do FREE wedding videos if it’s gonna be in the Great Northern Hotel. Check my Insta @trip.taker for checking the photos videos shoot on the wedding day.

Next morning, we woke up in this complimentary presidential suite with all our overnight suitcases plus wedding gifts and breakfast + Prosecco in bed kinda thing. Hotel staff took a very good care of our belongings. Best suite I ever stayed in. My family visited us in the room and there were just jaw dropping looks on their face. Everybody loved how comfy the room is.

I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place for wedding. Five stars, Karen!

Had a fantastic day. Everything went without a hitch. Karen our wedding coordinator was fantastic and nothing was a bother. The hotel service was out of this world as were the views. Totally recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wedding venue.
