Our May wedding at Lough Eske Castle was better than we could have imagined. The service was first-class, with our wedding co-ordinator Simon helping with any question or query. We can't thank the hotel staff enough for making our day (and weekend) so special!

From our very first meeting in Lough Eske it was excellent experience. They really listened to what we wanted and we both felt so relaxed when organising our wedding. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Lough Eske our day was everything we hoped for and so much more.

choosing the Lough Eske was the staff, who are always so polite and cant do enough for you, nothing is any trouble and more importantly it is genuine and not forced like in many other places.

From the minute we contacted Stephen about having our wedding there everything was perfect. We didn't have to worry about a thing and never felt stressed at all like I know so many people preparing for a wedding do lol Stephen and all the staff took such great care of us from the first day we went to visit the castle, the menu tasting, the weeks and days before the wedding and especially on the day. Our guests all commented on beautiful everything was and how great the staff were from the minute they arrived to they left the next day - the wedding team, servers, barmen, front desk, concierge and the staff in the breakfast room the next morning (the breakfasts are unreal lol)

We really couldn't have asked for anything more for our wedding and would recommend this hotel to anyone, it really is the most perfect place for the most perfect day which is made even better by the amazing staff! Thank you so much to Stephen and all the team, we can't wait to our next visit :)

married there. The Castle, lake and grounds are breathtaking. It is a truly special venue. When we discovered there was a bank holiday date available 5 months later we booked the date. On our first meeting we met Stephen who was honest, friendly, warm, very professional and organised. Stephen gave us great advice and was such a great help in the organisation of our big day. We also worked closely with Caoibhe who was fantastic. Given we were organising our wedding in such a short amount of time there was a lot to do in a small amount of time. Stephen was always on the other end of the phone or email to assist us in whatever it was! With over ten years experience with the organisation of weddings he was such a great help. Our venue was never a worry for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our pre-wedding visits and tasting menus at Lough Eske. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious. Lough Eske is a five star venue with impeccable standards but with a friendliness and warmness I have never encountered elsewhere.

On the day itself we were overjoyed with the venue, food and staff. The bridal suite was AMAZING and accommodated a room full of family, friends and stylists on the morning of the wedding. The staff in particular were superb and our guests raved about the five star service. Everyone commented on the service they received, how personal it was & how they wanted for nothing. And despite how good everything is - and despite their countless awards - the price is extremely reasonable compared with comparable venues at other locations across the country. She was quick to respond to my questions and made me feel so at ease leading up to my big day, nothing was too big or too small for her to handle. Even though it was raining, Caoibhe and her staff made sure the day was flawless and it didn't make a difference to our day at all. There wasn't a single thing that we could fault during our celebrations. The food and service were outstanding, and of course the hotel (including the ballroom and bedrooms) and location are absolutely stunning. Guests and bridal party alike were treated like royalty. helpful with all of our questions - from vendor recommendations, to room bookings, and all the little detail that brides tend to worry about. We live in the US and every time we visited Ireland (which was at least 4 times), Stephen made time to meet with us and answer any questions.

The night before the wedding, I met with Greg, the afternoon event manager, who informed me that he'd stay around until about 4 am the night of the wedding.

On the day of the wedding, Stephen and Caoimhe greeted me in the lobby early in the morning. They helped with a number of little things that came up (which I can't even recall now, but do remember seeing them multiple times before the wedding itself). We were lucky with the weather and got married on the beautiful patio outside. Immediately after the ceremony, Stephen brought us champagne, some canapés for the bridal party, and even drove us and the photographer around the grounds for our photo shoot. He was great!

Sometime after dinner Greg took over and the entire day went without a hiccup. The staff were friendly, the food was great, and tolerance for our drunk guests very high. As promised, Greg was there until the end, very much like Mr Wolf from Pulp Fiction, he cleaned up a couple of messes without a fuss. At the end of the night, we found all of the cards in the safe (they were brought up by Greg himself), our room tidied up, a couple of lights on and a greeting card from the hotel staff.

The following morning included a massage in the gorgeous hotel spa.

In summary, we felt taken care of from the very beginning and would highly recommend this venue for a weekend stay, vacation or a wedding. We will definitely be back.

Lough Eske, relaxing, enjoying the delicious food and chilling out at the spa. All the guests agreed that the food for the entire visit was excellent and it was a perfect backdrop for a wedding. We had our ceremony in the Presidential suite, which was perfect for our small number of guests. The staff decorated all the rooms beautifully (the ceremony, dinner and lunch venues), we just dropped our flowers off when we arrived and we didn’t have to worry about it again. All the staff were extremely accommodating to each of our guests, including giving the grandparents a tour and brief history of the castle, which they loved. Stephen knew exactly what we wanted, and everything was even better than expected. We can’t imagine ever having a more relaxed wedding day than we got at Lough Eske, and that’s not even including the couples massage arranged for us in the Spa after everything was finished. The grounds are a great location for wedding photos too.

All the hotel rooms are excellent. The Bridal Suite was really nice and made for some nice photos on the morning of the wedding. In fact, the whole hotel must be a photographers dream.
Our wedding guests really enjoyed the facilities of the hotel such as the spa and walking trails around the lake.

The food was amazing at our reception and all the guests thought so too. People are still talking about the food. Each table had their own waiter and the food was cooked to order which is quite remarkable for the number of guests. Breakfast on the morning of the wedding was just what I needed for the day.

The canapés were lovely and the fish and chips in the evening were so tasty. People were quite full from all the food earlier, but they couldn't resist them they tasted so good.

All the staff at the hotel were so helpful and made our wedding so easy and enjoyable. It's a shame it went so quick. I cannot praise Stephen, Caoibhe and the hotel staff highly enough. We will be returning for future stays and it really is a special place. Thank you so much.

Organising a wedding from overseas (Melbourne, Australia) with a 11 hour time difference is not easy. Yet your professionalism, can-do attitude and efficiency made it so easy to work with you. We had no hired wedding coordinator and that person was you. From the menu tastings to the decor, the organisation, working with suppliers and us on some of the finer details; everything was seamless and you were able to deliver the perfect tailored wedding we wanted.
The staff at the castle, from reception, to door staff and food and beverage staff, were all incredible.
We loved he food. Our choice of the beef and trout on a bed of risotto was divine and so were the entrees and dessert of sticky date. Thank you to your kitchen staff for the sumptuous meals and the recommendations on the wine that was tastefully matched to our meals.
The castle as a venue is a dream. We couldn't think of a better or more apt location especially considering the castles heritage; and Barry (and now me also) being an O'Donnell. All our guests (many travelling from far and wide) were impressed by the Castles location, surroundings and facilities. Our room was unbelievably beautiful and tastefully decorated and both Barry and I can't wait to come back and have a weekend at the castle.

Stephen Bell our wedding coordinator at the hotel, was just great to deal with. He looked after everything and nothing was ever a problem. I cannot thank you enough Stephen for making the whole experience just amazing, I know you deal with couples every day, you really made us feel like our wedding was the only wedding in the hotel that year. You were so professional and yet still able to have a laugh with us about certain things. A great balance, a great personality!

From the staff at the reception, booking for accommodation, staff in the bar and restaurant, wedding staff and management staff - They were so friendly and could not do enough for us - John a proud Donegal man tells me its "just how Donegal people roll"! On the day, everything went perfectly. From set-up for the wedding ceremony to the reception, delicious dinner and fun-filled dance later that evening, the service we received from the Solis staff was impeccable. We, and our guests, were impressed by the overall ambience of the castle and the standard of accommodations and amenities – it is indeed 5 star.

It was a pleasure to work with the entire team at Solis. From our first contact with Stephen Bell, the castle’s wedding planner, over a year ago through the many other contacts and conversations we had with him and others, everyone was so friendly, helpful and efficient in the planning of our wedding. Getting married in another country has many potential obstacles but the cooperative and professional approach all the Solis staff demonstrated made what could have been a very stressful undertaking go smoothly and without incident. whole staff at the Castle were amazing, accommodating and did everything in their power to make our event feel so special. We had a few requests they had not had thus far and they pulled out all the stops to make them happen. We were coming from so far away being from the States that we didn't have a chance to preview much before we arrived just two days before the wedding. Once we arrived Stephen went over all the final decisions and pulled everything off perfectly just 48 hours later. The room we stayed in was one from the original structure and was a perfect size for getting ready and just to enjoy for the four wonderful days we were there. Nothing was too much trouble for Stephen or the extended staff who all made our guests feel so welcome. In the weeks leading up to the wedding Stephen worked extremely hard to ensure everything went smoothly on the day. The organisation was amazing. Our guests were simply blown away by the building, the staff, the food, the ballroom, especially as the hotel was decorated for Christmas. The presidential suite was stunning. We searched for the perfect location for a number of weekends and Lough Eske Castle was our last stop on a whistle stop wedding tour of Ireland. When we arrived we knew immediately that Lough Eske was the place!

A beautiful castle, a five star hotel, set in rural Donegal, it was just stunning. …

The place was so warm & friendly from the moment we stepped inside & were greeted by Peter who was on the front door. The fires were lit & there was a genuine 'feel good' buzz around the place amongst a very relaxed atmosphere.

Mark Langford was our wedding coordinator & to say his service was outstanding is a huge understatement. Mark would accommodate every need that we had. Very accessible by phone or email & always & instantaneous response, from the very beginning up until the day itself.

The day of the wedding itself was fantastic! We were greeted by Mark with a complimentary drink of our choice & then shown the wonderful ballroom that was decorated by Simply Devine from Donegal. The room was superb, everything we had asked for & more!

The entire waiting staff & bar staff were superb, accommodating to all 212 guests present & always going over & beyond to ensure the day ran with ease & efficiency! The service was second to none, polite & friendly throughout the entire day & evening. From the drinks reception to the residents bar the next morning, faultless!

As for the food, fantastic! Lough Eske's menu was excellent & lots to choose from. All of our guests were highly complimentary of the wonderful five course meal that was served as well as the wine that went along with the meal. Well worth a visit for the food alone!

Mark had left no stone unturned & was always in regular contact to reassure us & to make sure that we always had the final say on everything. To put into one word our experience of our wedding at Lough Eske, it would be amazing! Everything that we could have possibly have dreamed & the memories we will have from that day will be forever priceless

We were made to feel welcome and at home on every visit to the castle where Stephen would always make time to meet with us for a chat & coffee and discuss any small detail about the wedding. There was never an occasion that Stephen or any of the staff were to busy to discuss arrangements by phone or email and the room reservations for our guests was made simple and straight forward by Claire & Caoimhe. The quality of the food on the day & on every other occasion we visited the hotel was impeccable with any requests for alterations to the menu to suit guests noted & seen to on the day. All staff members were extremely helpful when it came to organising food or soft drinks for our daughter who at the time of our wedding was 1.5 and in need of much attention. The staff at the hotel were more than helpful in organising a babysitter for ourselves and other family members on the wedding night to allow us to continue enjoying the party after the children had gone to bed. Stephen, Donal and all of the managerial team where available throughout the day and on hand to organise the storage of decorations prior to the wedding and their swift & beautiful layout on the day. I had chosen to have my wedding makeup done by the makeup artists at the spa in the hotel who were more than happy to come to our location on the morning of the wedding to save time, Emma & Catriona did a fantastic job for myself, my mum & all the bridesmaids within an organised time frame, I thank them both & am extremely grateful to Emma for keeping me calm & collected while preparing me for the ceremony & taking care with me & my daughter as she had no problems working around my little one climbing up & down off my lap & giving me time to see to my daughter without pressure.
All round we couldn't wish for a better experience & have received many compliments from our guests on how fabulous the whole day was. The location & service was perfect & was overseen with calm & ease by Stephen Bell who was always accommodating & very kind. We will be making many trips to this beautiful homely place in the future & would highly recommend the castle as a fabulous wedding venue.

From the very initial email to enquire more information we had first class responses inviting us to come and look around the castle. Stephen and Donal were exceptional; they were so welcoming and friendly and gave us all the information that we were looking for to see if our dream wedding could …

come to life in this amazing castle. They were always quick to respond to emails and phone calls answering our questions and even going out of their way to fulfill special requests. We were then invited to our menu tasting which was another first class experience. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly and it was as if we had knew them forever. Stephen had also gave us information on recommended companies for dressing the ball room, music and even an ice cream kart.

As a creative person I wanted to design and create our own special theme and this was greatly welcomed without any restrictions. The day before the wedding we had loads of jeeps and vans bring all the trees, tree trunk slabs, lanterns etc and Anthony was straight out with the staff helping to carry everything in to a room that they had provided us for storage. We also had the space to dress the tables the night before and make the bouquets, along with extra help from the staff especially Alison.

It rained all night and the morning of the wedding and it was our dream to have our ceremony outside in the rockery; Stephen let us make the decision just an hour before the ceremony and thankfully the rain had cleared up and all staff were at hand with umbrellas just encase. They also had the ballroom prepared for plan B.

Every part of our wedding was delightful and made special by the staff and the amazing castle, we cannot thank them enough. Our guests were blown away with the kindness of staff, the exceptional food, the surroundings and they all commented how it was the best wedding they had even been to.

The staff all went out of their way to help us and made us fell like a prince and princess.

My new wife Laura and I held our wedding reception at Lough Eske Castle, Donegal.

To say it went perfectly was an understatement.

As much as any couple, we were a little fussy. But, for Stephen Bell and his team, nothing was too much trouble. If they didn't have what we wanted - they found …

it. If we were unsure of anything - they tracked down the answers. If we had an idea, thought or eleventh-hour whim of any description - they got it done, and did so with a smile on their face.

In the lead up to the wedding, we dealt exclusively with Stephen - wedding coordinator at Lough Eske. We didn't have much of a clue about the fine detail, the nuts and bolts of organising a wedding, but he walked and talked us through the whole thing. In truth, he made what could have been a very stressful experience simple, straightforward and enjoyable. (Especially the pre-wedding food tasting. A major perk, that). Moreover, he never tried to push in to blowing cash on unnecessary extras. He asked what we wanted, and, when it came to the day, he and his team delivered in a big way.

On the day itself, Stephen's right hand man - who's name escapes me at this second - was incredibly attentive, efficient and, well, likeable. He made sure table service throughout dinner ran like clockwork, and he watched like a hawk to ensure Laura and I had everything we needed before we needed it. The food was great, too. Top-notch. (It still amazes me how they can cook so many dishes at the same time, and still deliver restaurant quality grub).

All in, it was a seamless, extremely professional operation; made even better by the waiters, waitresses and bar staff who, in the way only Donegal folk can, went about their business with a genuine warmth and no small amount of expertise.

I should mention that it rained buckets on the day. But, somehow, once we arrived at the hotel, it simply didn't matter. We had a truly amazing time.

His attitude of " anything you want" and " leave that to me" was so refreshing and he really made everything we wanted, happen! My mother and I visited Lough Eske Castle in March and when we met Stephen we knew we had made the right choice!! The only time Kieran and I could come to the tasting was during Easter weekend and Stephen made that happen!! He was constantly in touch and took care of every detail. We had several items shipped to Lough Eske and Stephen had it stored for us. He arranged with the chef to have special treats delivered to our guests on arrival. He also took care of arrangements with the spa and a fishing trip for Kieran and his groomsmen. When we arrived at Lough Eske a couple of days before the wedding, Stephen was there to greet us even though it was the last day of his vacation! He made sure we were all checked in and had everything we needed. Our guests were mostly from the US and UK and loved Lough Eske Castle. The rooms are large and beautiful and the service is fantastic! The bridal suite was fabulous and we were able to entertain our whole bridal party there! From the rooms we stayed in to the welcome buffet dinner, to the wedding ceremony and ballroom dinner, the weekend was perfect! The ceremony in the Rockery was magical and Stephen and his team produced a great setting both outdoors and indoors. wedding planner was amazing. From our initial contact with him he completely put us at ease and helped us through the whole process, nothing was too much trouble for him, he is excellent at what he does.
We stayed for 5 nights at the hotel, arriving the day before the wedding and the staff were excellent. They had made a point in knowing our names and were very friendly and professional.

Everything on the wedding day went perfectly thanks to Stephen and the catering team. We had the ceremony in the presidential suite which was stunning and then on to the ballroom for reception. Our photographs and storybook were all done on the hotel grounds and it was just stunning. Some of our guests had never been before and they were in awe of the castle and the grounds. The reception food was outstanding and as my sister was vegan, Stephen and the chef had been in contact with her to create a menu that would cater for her needs that she would enjoy. The bar staff were also amazing, special thanks to Bernard who had stayed with us until the end of the night, great barman.
The day after the wedding we also had a BBQ outside to celebrate my husbands 30th and the food was unbelievable, especially the deserts.
To all the staff at Solis Lough Eske, the biggest thank you, especially Stephen. You ensured we had the most memorable wedding 30th and 'mini moon' we could have ever wanted. We really appreciate everything you have done for us and we can't wait until the next trip back home to book in to the Castle again.

We can only give this hotel 5 stars for the most wonderful wedding experience. When they tell you not to worry and that they will take care of the detail...believe me, they really mean it. Here's a few reasons why it was so good:
1) the venue - it's a castle! What's not to love?!
2) the staff - …

they're so helpful and friendly, not at all stuffy so they make you feel right at home while also completely taking care of you.
3) the food - exceptional menu choices and delivered impeccably.
4) the 'restaurant experience' during the meal - don't you hate it when you're at a wedding and you're only getting main course while the people on the other side of the room are on desert?! Well, not at Lough Eske! There's something very special about everyone being served at the same time.
5) Flexibility - Stephen was great for not being a stickler for the rules (within reason). Little things like letting us mix and match some of the menu choices really made it for us. Also if you're worried about the room being too big or too small...don't! We booked it thinking our numbers would be bigger and then i worried a little about only having half the room or it feeling really empty. Thanks to Stephen it worked out perfectly - we had 2/3 of the room open for dinner and then in the other bit the band set up during dinner and after we opened it all up...so the the party was revealed! It meant we could have our top table by the rockery but were then able to have the bar open in the room during the dancing.
6) The rooms - I would move in tomorrow if I could!! They're just out of this world!
7) The spa and pool - lots of our friends stayed for the wknd and it was fantastic to have such great facilties on site.
8) The bar - great for a casual drink around the wedding itself and fab bar food too!
We just loved everything about our time at the hotel and really enjoyed the whole experience - thanks so much to Stephen and the rest of the staff for ensuring we had the time of our lives!

From the moment we met Stephen we felt completely comfortable and knew he had our best interests in mind, his suggestion for us to use the library for our ceremony was absolutely the perfect choice. He took my dress and the my husbands tux and had them pressed and cleaned as they undoubtedly had wrinkles from our flight. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating either, they were always pleasant, eager to engage in conversation and incredibly friendly. Bernard, one of the servers during our cocktail hour and dinner reception, was exceptionally attentive and even answered our guests questions with a "wee" history lesson on burning peat in Ireland. It was a nice surprise to have received rose petals and truffles waiting in our room after our ceremony & reception. Stephen and all of the staff at Lough Eske helped make our wedding day truly a day we will never forget. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Thankfully we can and undoubtably will return one day.

We met Stephen on Saturday 6th September 2015 and asked him if he had any free Friday's or Saturday's for that December. I don't think he believed us when we told him we were indeed planning our wedding for that time. From the moment we secured Friday 12th Dec, Stephen dilligently navigated us through all the necessary plans to host a wedding reception for 100 people. We didn't have the worry about a thing and completely trusted that Stephen had everything under control.

The wedding reception was better than we could ever have imagined. Stephen welcomed us with a glass of champagne and chaperoned us into the foyer, whereby we saw all of our guests mingling, enjoying the canapes, champagne & all the other delights on offer. The attention to detail from the staff was evident everywhere i.e. the table layouts, the lighting, the table service, the background music. We were served the most amazing meal, which was commented on by many of our guests. The whole evening was magical and our wedding day was followed by an equally memorable day, spending time with our family & friends, enjoying the wonderful ambience & hospitality of the Lough Eske hotel.

We would like to thank all of the staff at Lough Eske, who really helped to make our day one that we will remember forever. Stephen Bell is a consummate professional and a wonderful asset to the Lough Eske. We would highly recommend the Lough Eske hotel for any special occasion particualry a wedding; one would travel a long way before encountering a place as special as the Solis Lough Eske Castle.

perfect for photos & this was one of the main reasons we chose this venue. Our wedding was on a rainy October day but we weren’t too dissappointed as we got some amazing photos inside the castle.

The ballroom looked great on the day and our guests have been raving about the food. The hotel offers a fine dining experience that you are more likely to see in an intimate restaurant. So how they created this experience for 210 people is really rather impressive. With each table having their own server, everyone was served at the same time, allowing the day to run smoothly and on time.

Stephen, our wedding co-ordinator was great and accommodated all of our requests. We are not sure that another hotel would have been so obliging. We had a vintage travel theme wedding and used a number of props (old suitcases, globes etc…) which we provided ourselves and very large vintage world map as our seating plan (8ft x 13ft). The seating plan was hand made by ourselves and needed to be assembled in the hotel two days before the wedding. The staff couldn't have been more helpful when we were setting everything up. Stephen, Donal (Operations Manager), Anthony (the master of cermonies for the day) and the staff went above and beyond on the day and in the weeks and months leading up to our wedding.

The real advantage this hotel has over many other hotels is it’s staff. From little things like remembering your name and what your drinking to things like their attention to detail and the effort they put in to making us and our guests feel welcome and relaxed throughout our wedding weekend.

Overall everything exceeded our expectations and it really was a fairytale wedding.

The warmth and hospitality of the hotel is apparent the minute you walk through the doors. We stayed for 3 nights in Lough Eske some of our guests stayed 2 nights and most stayed 1 night. They were all so impressed with the hotel, staff, food, spa etc. When you arrive here the welcome is incredible and it remains throughout your stay. The staff have the ability to tune into your mood and are not at all intrusive but there if you need them.

The rooms are fantastic with very comfortable beds (we slept in 3 rooms!) the bridal suite is simply the best. You really do feel like a princess in this hotel.

Our little dog was accommodated in the courtyard room and there was so much space to exercise him.

We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will cherish our memories forever.

a treat to deal with. Nothing was a problem for him and he was very accommodating with our requests. He clearly has a lot of experience and I can see why the castle has so many wedding awards. Stephen advised us on timings, the meal, room layout and was a great source of information.

The castle and grounds were fabulous and the staff were very faultless; very obliging and attentive. It was nice to see so many local staff. It felt very Donegal!!

We hadn't had an opportunity to try the menu before the big day but I must say the dinner was beautiful and our family and friends very much agreed. We opted for the goats cheese, beetroot salad and there was a consensus following the starter that one may need to invest in a goat in order to enjoy such a dish again. The soup also impressed and the mains were delicious and well prepared. We can recommend the apple crumble too. Its a credit to their kitchen and catering staff that they can comfortably serve a meal of this standard to a large group of people. I've never been to a wedding or function where the food was as impressive. People are still taking about the fish and chips we had for supper.

We had the Pat Gallagher band who were excellent. They kept the dance floor in full swing for the whole night.

left down all of our decorations in advance and as our church was in the next county, it was up to the staff to set up all of our place settings etc. They did a fantastic job and the room looked beautiful.
We spent a lot of time as the bride and groom trying to speak to everyone and were so busy making sure everyone was looked after that we forgot about ourselves, but Stephen made a point of finding and bringing a tray of canapes over to us and ensuring that we had a drink in our hand at all times. It sounds simple but looking back it was a gesture that was really appreciated as we spent such a long time picking out menu details and could very easy have found ourselves missing out on actually tasting the food that we had picked.
We were made to feel very special within the hotel, being immediately served any time we went to the bar and congratulated by any member of staff we walked past. It actually felt like we had the whole run of the hotel. Of course we didnt, but we were made to feel that the day was all about us which surely is what every couple wants. To top it all off, we were upgraded to their Presidential Suite as a surprise gift from the hotel. It was stunning, to the point where we insisted on dragging half of the guests up to take a look at the room!
We would highly recommend Lough Eske to any prospective couples. It definitely has the wow factor and provided the backdrop to some beautiful wedding photos. One of the couples at our wedding loved the place so much that they flew back over from England two weeks later to enjoy a week's holiday at the hotel.
We're also planning our return stay next year...minus the big white dress and three piece suit!

UK should have meant that the planning of everything was a little trickier, however this was not the case with emails be promptly replied to and someone to talk to at the end of the phone readily. Each time we came over to sort out menu tastings, or to see our florist for the big day etc we stayed in the castle and were treated like VIP's from ALL the staff with them quoting "you two are part of the Lough Eske Family now", and it really did feel like that. Nothing ever was too much bother, and this was also commented by our own personal wedding planner whom we hired who said Lough Eske really is one of the only wedding venues that the staff go over and beyond (and he has wedding's weekly all across the North & South of Ireland, so this was a big compliment). When the day arrived it was everything and much much more than we expected. All of the guests commented on the service and efficiency of the staff and said that it was like no other they have ever received. Everything ran smoothly, all of our special requests were accomodated, and the catering was out of this world. As well as this, it was lovely to have the staff whom we had got to form a close relationship from our stays at the castle be our waiters and waitresses so it was a very intimate affair of just close friends and family. It really was our dream day and we have Lough Eske to thank for that! It truly is the dream location to get married & we are already planning our next trip there at christmas, as well as easter and our anniversary next summer which sums it all up really :)

and had never been to the venue, we thought this would cause some complications with arranging our wedding at the hotel however with quick responses to our emails and professional telephone calls with Stephen the wedding coordinator, we were able to arrange the best day of our lives. He was professional, well organised and made us feel special, attending to our individual requests. Upon our return to Northern Ireland, we popped down to the venue to have our first look. Stunning! The venue, the rooms, the service, the staff and the food were all fantastic. We were very, very happy with our choice!
Lough Eske is an amazing venue and would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking on planning their wedding. You are treated like royalty and the hotel rooms, food, staff and surrounding areas are unbelievable. Due to the wet December weather, we were unable to get outside for any pictures however there many nooks inside the hotel to get great pictures taken.
Our wedding guests are still talking about the venue and will definitely be back for an overnight visit. With blazing fires and such a cosy and warm atmosphere in the Castle, it was the perfect way to spend the night before the most special day of my life. There is nothing we could fault about this hotel. Everything on our wedding day was truly perfect. The day ran so smoothly and we were made to feel very special. There was never any pressure on us and when we arrived at the hotel after the church we were able to just totally relax and enjoy mingling with our guests. The set up at the hotel was everything we had asked for with attention paid to every little detail. Given the exclusive location of the hotel, there are beautiful photo opportunities both inside and outside in the extensive grounds and courtyard of the hotel so you will never be stuck even if the weather is bad. The meal was absolutely delicious and our guests still comment on the quality of the food saying it was the best they have had. The staff, as always, were just fabulous and couldn’t do enough for you. So many of our guests commented on how attentive and friendly they were. From the moment we booked our wedding with Lough Eske we knew we were in good hands and would like to give a special mention to Stephen Bell who was fantastic in helping us with all the arrangements for our special day. It was everything Stephen promised it would be, and more. The only thing we would change about our wedding day is if it could have lasted longer! We returned from honeymoon and people were still raving about lough Eske. It's the little things that make a huge difference. One of the waiters noticed that my little nephew’s toy sword was broken and without a word, he took it from the table, managed to superglue it and returned back with it fixed much to Oscar’s delight! Jimmy at the bar looked after us during dinner on the Friday evening, and when we arrived back from the ceremony, all of the staff were on hand with umbrellas. At breakfast, the team had reserved an area for us and our family the morning after before we even asked. You managed to sort a copy of our wedding entrance song after I misplaced it and Donal and the banqueting team had to do some creative work with the cake on the day, which I didn't even realise because they wanted to sort it without letting me know about any issues. First class service!

The only argument at the wedding was between our guests who each said that 'their waiter/waitress' was the best in Lough Eske. I don't think I have ever heard the like of it! Please pass on our sincere thanks to Donal and the entire banqueting team were outstanding. Thank you Stephen for all your help. We would have been lost without you!

The food was absolutely amazing, the venue was stunning but the staff at Lough Eske are out of this world. Sean you should be very proud! I think it is safe to say that choosing Lough Eske for our wedding was the best decision we ever made.

happy one. I just knew that they would apply the same, care, kindness and attention to detail to our big day.

I am sure that we were not the easiest couple to deal with as we were so far away and ten hours ahead. We only flew back a few days before the wedding. Due to the distance we had to ask our parents to liaise with the hotel on our behalf, they could not have been more helpful and I am sure it wasn't easy to deal with so many different people. Lough Eske were amazing, they accommodated every request we had and nothing was too much trouble.

The day itself was fantastic, the venue looked like a winter wonderland, the food was exceptional, accommodation first class, and most importantly the donegal hospitality from the staff was genuine and consistent. I know we are biased as it was our wedding day, but our guests are still talking about what a lovely time they had, and many of them have gone back on little mini breaks of their own, that is a true testament in itself. Many of our guests were not from Ireland, so we were extremely proud to have given them such warm, friendly and memorable experience - which is all down to the quality of service and unique, relaxed vibe at Lough Eske Castle.

From the second our family and friends arrived the welcome they received was second to none. The castle and wedding venue itself were picture perfect. A special thank you to Monica and her team at Simply Divine for the dressing the wedding venue so beautifully. attentive during our wedding, but during our entire stay - the restaurant, spa, room service - everyone was working together seamlessly to create unique experiences for us and resolve any potential issues before they arose.

As a US-based bride, this was a big relief, since destination wedding planning can be difficult and risky. Their attitude and professionalism allowed me to relax and enjoy the experience, knowing that they would ensure that everything was perfect.

The absolute best part was the wedding coordinator, Stephen Bell. From the very start he was helpful, and continued to be great throughout the planning process - including a frantic search for a replacement priest the week before the wedding.

When we checked out the day after our wedding, we could see that the staff was setting up for another wedding, and from the decor and guests arriving, it was clear this wedding was going to be much bigger and more expensive than ours had been. Stephen was in the entrance waiting to welcome the bride and groom and making last minute preparations; but despite this, he stopped and came over to talk to us at length about our big day without any sense of rushing or making us feel second best. He was so warm and friendly. It would have been easy at such fancy location to hurry us out since our wedding was small and over, but he treated us wonderfully through the very end. True class.

The big day itself (8th June 2013) was amazing we had the hot weather, our family and friends and the Solis Lough Eske. We hoped like all happy couples that our chosen venue would meet our expectations and be the icing on the cake. It not only met our expectations but by far exceeded them. The welcoming staff, food, function room, honey moon suite, spa, the list is endless, was brilliant we felt proud that our wedding day was made perfect. A memory that not only we but our guests will never forget. Weeks after our wedding day we were still getting amazing comments from our guests about our day and the Solis Lough Eske. new wedding coordinator took over. First of all we had to find out from word of mouth that she had left, which was very unprofessional for a 5 star hotel that know one had contacted us. The new wedding coordinator Mairead really did not have a clue, and for a bride and groom that was getting married in a few months this is not what you want , we had to follow up numerous times with emails an calls and this was very stressful.

Our big day arrived and we went to our reception to be greeted by nobody , then Mairead appeared with 4 glasses of champagne for a bridal party of 8 !
We had to leave our luggage up the night before , so on our wedding day i went to my honeymoon suit to freshen up to find there was no luggage, more stress we did not need. We asked her did she have the cd with the entrance music the reply we got was " its about somewhere" very unprofessional yet again. Now our food was 5 star, the waiting staff and service in the dining room was 5 star and we enjoyed our day with our family an friends. Until we woke up the next morning to find we had no towels, not something a new married couple should be ringing reception for in any hotel never mind a 5 star hotel. Now this was our experience with the hotel and i hope know one else had this, as we would have not booked this hotel if we thought our wedding experience would have been so stressful, especially when you pay for 5star.

As a professional couple, we knew we might have high expectations and were meticulous to detail by nature but we need not have worried, the quality and standards of Lough Eske, as a venue was outstanding.
Form the tree-lined entrance to the 'wow-factor' upon arrival at the castle the location is breath taking. Inside the plush, yet comfortable soundings were second to none. Nevertheless, despite these high attributes; Lough Eske's biggest asset is its staff. In summary, the best way to describe any members of staff was that of having a perfect mix of friendly and approachable (Donegal) charm with the professionalism and poise surpassing some of the best hotels in the world.
We were allocated Mr Stephen Bell as our wedding organiser in Lough Eske and from the outset we knew we were in safe hands. Despite our tsunami of emails, Stephen patiently attended to all our requests. It felt as though nothing was a problem.
As invariably is the case for most couples, ensuring your guests are happy is pivotal to your day. Many of our guests had travelled from far and wide to attend our wedding and so we wanted to ensure their efforts were rewarded. Well, the proof is in the pudding.. And many of them have booked to return!

Lough Eske would be out of our price bracket and only went to look around after recommendations from relatives but we were surprised at how reasonable the pricing was, in comparison with other venues in the area.

We were married in April after only getting engaged in December and Stephen quickly helped us make the most of our budget and every tiny detail was thought about and taken care of to ensure the day itself ran without any hitches whatsoever.

Stephen gave good advice and was incredibly straight at all times and you only ever got the sense that he was trying to get the best possible package for us, rather than the upselling you might experience elsewhere.

It was the small things that made it for us, from being welcomed with Champagne and some food in a quiet side room so we could relax after spending hours and hours smiling for photos to the complimentary spar treatments and the free stay on our first anniversary.

They are things that you probably wouldn't notice if they weren't there but all add to an incredible experience.

The food was superb and the guests were all impressed by Lough Eske itself, with many staying for up to three nights. You know you are in a high-quality venue but there is nothing stuffy or showy about it.

wedding. The reason for this was the team at Lough Eske who ensured this to be the case. Stephen (and Mairead previously) worked with us to deliver a world class memorable experience for not only us but our guests. The pride the team show in their jobs is visible at all times.
On the day of the wedding nothing was too much trouble for the team who treated both us and our guests as family as opposed to hotel guests they may never see again (we are true believers in treating people as you would expect to be treated) which made us feel at ease from the moment we walked through the doors of the castle the night before our wedding until the moment we had to end our wedding weekend.
On the day, the day ran like clockwork and the only glitch encountered (not a fault of Lough Eske) was expertly managed by Stephen and team (our florist missed two Roses for our Rose Ceremony) who resolved promptly behind the scenes and without us even knowing what had happened.
Our guests have raved about the day with comments about their overall experience in Lough Eske and reference to the wonderful food delivered. The staff of Lough Eske are not always visible as they blend into the surroundings so well but as soon as you need something they are there to assist in any way they can.
On our Honeymoon we went to La Mas Candille in Mougins (5 star spa resort with Michelin star restaurant near Cannes). I have to say when comparing the two, Lough Eske came out on top in all aspects from food to customer service.
Our recommendation to anyone looking at Lough Eske as a Wedding venue (or any event) is book it as you will not get better experience anywhere in the world than here!!!

It's the way you feel when you are there that makes it truly unique. It has the most beautiful wooded drive to approach the castle by car. It is like you are stepping into a different century. The castle …

itself is renovated with today's modern amenities, but has all the traditional decor expected of a castle. The warm aroma of the fireplaces burning in the common areas calm you as soon as you step into the castle for check-in. The staff are constantly but discretely helping you and the guests. There were tons of little things I hadn't even thought of during the wedding planning that the wonderful staff took care of. If they see something out of place, or see that you might have forgotten a detail, they add it for you. There was no request too big. They made me feel like I was there priority and treated me like a princess.
Solis Lough Eske gave me an absolute fairytale wedding! They were always aiming to please. No request was too strange or big for them to handle. My Wedding was in Aug 2013. I felt like I had a little army of support the second I met up with Stephen Bell, the fantastic wedding coordinator. I simply left all my ideas with him, and he and the staff implemented them with perfection. The guest tables were set up just as I had requested, all the activities planned were coordinated appropriately, the food and drink were First Class and SO many of the guests commented on how brilliant the staff were. One guest even spoke about how she was dancing in her bare feet and a staff member brought her a pair of slippers on a silver platter! She was delighted, as were everyone else, especially myself.
Stephen Bell told me I'd have nothing to worry about, and I didn't. He took care of it. My wedding was in his hands and he and the Solis staff couldn't have performed better. Thank You Lough Eske!

We had a lot of kids at our wedding and they absolutely loved it they had great fun because they were "allowed" to be kids and enjoy the wedding. The parents of the children all came to us afterwards and we're blown away by how their kids had been treated and in doing so it allowed the parents to really enjoy their day. 2 hours away he made the planning simple and was always in on hand when needed beyond what we anticipated.

I can’t put into words how amazing the staff are at the hotel, they helped to make our wedding day a truly memorable occasion. Every one of our guests were totally amazed by the venue and the food the guests are still talking about the food well it was the tip of the iceberg (Fabulous) and how well they were looked after while we were getting our photographs taken.

The rooms in the hotel were all beautiful and spacious, the honeymoon suite was out of this world, we really did feel like VIP’s. The hotel grounds provided us with the most amazing wedding photographs.
As predicted the wedding guests who didn't stay at the hotel still totally regret not doing so..
Paul & I felt so at home in the hotel, Stephen and the staff are what makes the hotel so special. Actually a few of our friends and family have been back to hotel since the wedding, my mothers friend from Glasgow came back just 2 weeks after the wedding to stay with her partner.

We cannot express how amazing this place is as a wedding venue and it deserves every award it has achieved.

We have been lucky enough to stay in some of the top hotels in the world but Lough Eske Castle is a notch above. The professionalism of the actual wedding arrangements were faultless, the food was simply superb and the dining room was stunning. The castle itself is absolute luxury and we don't think there can be a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in any hotel in the world. Everything went according to plan on the day and we have had VERY positive feedback from all of our guests without exception. The bedrooms are stunning and we have not been in a better spa. Most importantly of all, the staff are all brilliant. From bar staff to gardeners, we found everyone very friendly, professional and nothing was ever too much trouble. Well what can we say; our wedding at Lough Eske was simply outstanding. We do not have one complaint to make. We travelled from Co.Down to Donegal after our Wedding Mass in torrential rain, along with 160 guests...Lough Eske definitely needed to pull out all the stops for our guests considering …

the journey - and they did not fail!! Not only did Lough Eske bring the weather :) (it stopped raining literally as we arrived), but the service, food, and rooms were top notch - we travelled around Asia on our honeymoon in 5* hotels and not one could match the service in Lough Eske. Our guests ended up having more photos of the venue and their rooms than they did of the Bride! and those that had booked B&B's soon lived to regret it! From the moment we arrived, I felt like a princess. The staff did everything in their power to ensure we were treated like royalty. The food was amazing - definitely worth the journey!..the best I have ever experienced at a wedding (which is great for a Bride on her wedding day). - I would say some hotels have found it difficult to present food like it in their restaurant, never mind for a banquet occasion. It wasn't just the things which Lough Eske was being paid to do which left a lifelong memory and outstanding impression, but the extra touches. Our Best Man and another guest overslept breakfast the next day (too good a time partying) and a waiter overheard their conversation about going into Donegal Town for Breakfast instead - without any prompting, the waiter asked if they would like to take a seat in the bar and he would bring them whatever they wanted for breakfast...unheard of in any other hotel! My sister and her husband found the hotel so relaxing, they literally spent the whole of the next day in the Red Room beside the Turf Fire, and as always the staff stoking the fire where polite and friendly - not crossing the fine line between friendly / polite and pestering. The night after our wedding we ate dinner in the Dining Room (approx 25 of us), Lough Eske had set our Wedding Bouquets in the centre of each table and printed bespoke menus just for us, with our names etc. My husband and I also got a surprise desert presented to us with 'Congratulations on your wedding' wrote on it. It was all these lovely little touches which made not only our day, but our entire stay at Lough Eske unforgettable. Other guests and close family members were overwhelmed by the treatment my husband and I received - particularly as Lough Eske had no real reason to care anymore - the wedding was over and paid for. I would never wish to have my wedding anywhere else and if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing - Lough Eske proved why they have won The World’s Best Luxury Country Hotel over and over again during our Wedding Weekend.

Our guests were so impressed, we had a number of guests with special dietary requirements and they said they never received such special attention, the gluten free bread, the special dessert everything was perfect! We were blessed with beautiful weather for our day and didnt have to go anywhere else for Photographs, the grounds and surrounding Lough Eske are the perfect backdrop. At our menu tasting we met the Chef Gary who was happy to make some changes to suit our needs for example we wanted the steaks cut a bit thicker than at tasting and that was no problem. The wines are superb, the afters food just gorgeous, Many of our guests remarked that it was the first wedding they had attended without cocktail suasages replaced instead with fish and chips and mini burgers! delicious! Our accommodation was gorgeous, roll top bath, four poster bed, over looking the turrets of the Castle, it was the most romantic room I have ever stayed in. We could not have been more delighted with our wedding at Solis Lough Eske Castle. It was an amazing location but what made it for us was the great service and friendliness of the staff. Our reception room looked amazing, every attention to detail had been taken care of. The meal was absolutely …

delicious, I had no room left for any wedding cake! My only regret was that we didn't stay longer. I would of loved another night in our wedding suite and availed of our free spa treatment which I'm sure would have been an other great experience.
