The Piano Lounge

As your guests begin to arrive at the Hotel they will be escorted through to the Piano Lounge. There is something a little magical about this private space, steeped in natural daylight with its own baby grand piano to set the tone. Your guests can relax and enjoy a cocktail at their own private bar, while listening to our resident pianists, in anticipation of your arrival at the hotel.

Civil Ceremonies & Civil Partnerships

Our Slieve Aughty Suite features wonderful views across the lake and can host up to 80 cherished family and friends. We celebrate all love and are delighted to host civil partnership and civil wedding ceremonies. Our elegant De Dannan Suite can cater for larger numbers of 120 to 350 guests.

Our Rooftop Garden is a fabulous outdoor venue suitable for a blessing or humanist ceremony. Our roof top boasts panoramic views of Loughrea Lake and the Galway countryside, which can cater for up to 60 guests.

Our rooms are all beautifully decorated with a fairy light backdrop, red aisle carpet, lanterns, white chair covers with sash and tall silver candelabras.

The Sonnagh Suite

Located next to the Piano Lounge, this adaptable suite can be used in a number of ways. Some couples have used it as a novelty sweet shop, a photo booth or a poker room. It can also be set up as a children’s play area with movies and toys to entertain the little ones during or after your wedding meal.

The Ballroom

The De Dannan Suite is a beautiful ballroom with its own bar. Elegant Murano glass chandeliers, adjustable mood lighting and the warm glow of candlelight create and idyllic romantic atmosphere. Our banqueting tables and seating are dressed in simple white linen, allowing you to add your own personal touches to customise this wonderful room.

The De Dannan Suite can cater for up to 350 wedding guests, for more intimate parties the room can be divided into two sections, or the Abbey Restaurant can be reserved exclusively for your guests.

The Rooftop Garden

The Rooftop Garden is the perfect setting to capture some moments on your wedding day. The rooftop garden boasts sensational panoramic vistas of Lough Rea Lake and the mountains beyond. Stylish but comfortable furnishings and wooden decking softened with verdant plants creates a magical atmosphere to watch the setting summer sun. The Roof Top Garden is also the perfect place to have a family BBQ the day after your wedding while you relax and unwind on your first day together as husband and wife.

Why not host your hen or stag night on our Roof Top Garden. Book a sizzling BBQs, Finger Food and Cocktail Making Classes. Combine it with our Girls Getaway Spa package for the ultimate weekend. For the stags enjoy whiskey tasting, golf, foot golf, karting and paintballing all just a short drive from the hotel.

Shore Island Spa

The Spa also boasts a dedicated beauty room for groups where you can have your professional make up application using Jane Iredale mineral make up along with a champagne breakfast. Other facilities include a Hair Salon, Couples room, 5 treatment rooms, Mud Rasul Chamber, Dry Flotation room, Pedicure and Manicure room with OPI nail treatments.

We would be delighted to host a champagne reception on the morning of your wedding or for your post wedding party while we pamper your bridal party for the day ahead.

Guest Bedrooms

With 91 spectacular guests rooms and suites, we have a choice of accommodation to suit all of your guests, whether it’s a single room, family room or accessible room. Dark tropical wenge wood compliments light pastel shades to create a contemporary ambience, flooded with light by day and with black out curtains to ensure your best sleep at night.

Each room features luxurious kayfoam mattresses with crisp white linen, individual air conditioning and views of Loughrea Lake or the surrounding countryside.

Bridal Suite

Our magnificent bridal suite offers the ultimate indulgence. When the party has come to an end, retire to your opulent suite with an open plan lounge and dining area. The spacious bathroom is complete with a free standing tub, rain shower, bathrobes and separate vanity areas. The suite boasts a large balcony overlooking Loughrea lake.

We got married in August, and had our reception at the Lough Rea Hotel & Spa. We also had our second day on the rooftop of the hotel, and we had a brilliant weekend from start to finish. The staff couldn't have looked after us any better and every detail was just perfect!

Sally was always a professional and quick to reply to all our queries. We had such a good weekend. Delighted we had our second night in the rooftop bar. It all ran so smoothly and without any hassle. Wish we could do it all again.

I couldn't recommend the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa more! The venue is in a beautiful location overlooking the lake in Loughrea. The ballroom is fabulous with beautiful chandeliers. There is a separate piano lounge which is perfect for the drinks reception. Our wedding coordinator Natalie could not …

have been more helpful and easy to deal with. She answered all of our questions and never made us feel foolish for asking! She really went above and beyond to make our day special for us. She also helped with my train when getting up to the top table which I didn't realise until I saw the video... thank you Natalie!! All of the staff in the hotel were very helpful, friendly and easy to deal with, in particular Mary in Reservations. The food was amazing and was commented on by all of the guests. No one left hungry! Any couples who are looking for venues should definitely check out the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa.
