There were unexpected little surprises that added to our delight, one of them being the “Memories Box” with a personalised greeting card waiting for us in our suite after the celebration. Sometimes small gestures go a long way and we will always remember The Maritime for its exceptional service and adding that personal touch to the whole experience. We will forever remember our wedding day, which was everything we wanted and more. Our guests have constantly mentioned that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever attended with exquisite food, attentive service and an enormous amount of love and happiness present on the day. The combination of The Maritime as a venue and the work carried out by Fionnbar Walsh and his team created the most memorable experience for us and our guests. We will always be grateful to Helen, Fionnbar and the staff of the Maritime for their hard work and exceptional service.

Helen, what an asset to the Maritime Hotel. From the moment we met Helen, she had us sold!!! She was so natural, friendly, obliging, thorough and understanding! Above and beyond doesn’t even describe what she did for us! She made us aware of all the big and the small things but the things that we overlooked – Helen had them sorted!!! Amazing!!!
The choice on the menu was fantastic – something to suit all tastes! The food was outstanding on the day, everyone had incredible things to say about it!!!
What would we change if we had to do it again?? Absolutely nothing! Everything was perfect from start to finish!

elements we valued for our day and for our guests. The communication was excellent from our initial enquiry right through to after the wedding day and Helen was always very responsive with any queries we had no matter how big or small.
There was constant support offered throughout the planning process and the local knowledge and approved suppliers was extremely helpful (especially for people not from Bantry). It also took a lot of stress away from us and made the whole build up a lot more enjoyable. We also found the complimentary Moposa membership great for staying organised.
We had numerous guests staying at the Maritime over the weekend and they were nothing but complimentary about the accommodation, facilities and most of all, the staff. The customer service was second to none, which is consistent with every time I have visited this hotel.
The wedding reception itself ran perfectly which was largely thanks to the hotel’s organisation and attention to detail. The food was fantastic and the service was perfect, we felt the staff made sure our guests were really taken care of and no request was too much.
We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough if you are looking for a wedding venue in a beautiful location, with excellent food, fantastic service and a warm reception. They strike the perfect balance between professional and welcoming and are everything you could want in both a hotel and a wedding venue. We really cannot praise Helen, Fionnbar and all the staff here enough and are so grateful to them for all their hard work on the day and during the preparations – the day exceeded all our expectations.

tasting to decorations even booking things like Bantry house for photos. Nothing was a problem or too big to sort out and my indecisiveness never seemed to phase the team. Helen had everything covered and thought of all the little details, such as babysitters for the children's room, even supplying the children with pictures to colour at the dinner table. Fionnbar Walsh and the team then ensured everything ran smoothly on the big day taking us through everything step by step. Everything was perfect, the Maritime is a truly beautiful hotel in a central location in Bantry town, great staff, delicious food, fabulous surroundings. We really couldn't have asked for a better place to hold our reception and would like to thank them all so much. Definitely the right decision for us.
