Ever since the marriage of the Jameson and Haig families of whiskey dynasty fame, the Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links has been the seaside venue of choice for many local and overseas wedding celebrations. Perfectly located on the award-winning ‘Velvet Strand’ beach, nestled between the picturesque, upmarket villages of Malahide and Howth on the beautiful North County Dublin coast, the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links offers one of the most magnificent and unique settings in the Dublin area.

On his last official visit to Ireland in 1907, King Edward VII, who often visited the Jameson Family, unveiled a plaque designed specially to commemorate the marriage between members of two great whiskey distilling families, Jameson & Haig. This wedding plaque is still to be seen today in what was the secret south walled garden, starting the great wedding tradition of the hotel, dating back to over 100 years ago

The stunning, natural location on the ‘Velvet Strand’ provides an idyllic backdrop for your photographs or wedding couples can use the intimate ‘Walled Secret Garden’ located on the grounds of the original 19^th century Jameson House, once the residence of the Jameson Family along with their own private golf course, now our renowned championship Portmarnock Golf Links course. We have a tradition of only one Wedding per day.

Lux is our classic hotel wedding package from €105.00 per person (based on 100 guests minimum), including the most popular choices needed for your Big Day, designed to make the organisation of your happy event as easy as possible.
Amor is our exclusive best-seller from €115.00 per person (based on 100 guests minimum) taking all the stress out of organising your day.
Pax is everything you require from a package from €125.00 per person (based on 100 guests minimum)

At Portmarnock, we are able to host a civil ceremony or informal blessing. The Strand Suite is the ideal room for intimate civil ceremonies, civil partnerships and blessings. The hotel's outdoor garden space is also an option for carrying out smaller ceremonies. Our experienced wedding co-ordinators will be able to assist with the careful planning of your special day and check dates available. However to book your civil ceremony, couples must apply directly to the registry office in your area.

My husband and I got married at Portmarnock over the Easter weekend this year and had truly the best day of our lives. We’re visiting the hotel next week from Wednesday to Friday along with my sister Nicole who was my bridesmaid, to have a little post wedding trip/celebration.

After the wedding …

was such a blur I don’t think I got a chance to thank every member of staff for such a truly outstanding time. From the day we met Karen, she took such exceptional care of us. Paul made our day so seamless, several guests commented it was like a movie. Every member of staff we encountered was so professional, kind, and helpful. The hotel itself is so beautiful and immaculate, and the food... what do I say about the food? What a showcase for Irish produce and cuisine! I know guests say it all the time but so many people told us it was the best wedding they’d ever been to. The beautiful weather certainly helped!

We’re so looking forward to seeing you all again next week.

Following our engagement, my husband and I started the wedding venue search. Nothing was standing out for us and we were about to move our search outside of Dublin when my husband asked to view the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links. From the moment we arrived to the hotel we both knew that our …

wedding reception would be held there. The new meets old interior is done so well. The views are indescribable, the attention to detail is second to none and staff are so welcoming. We booked our wedding pretty quickly and from the start Karen was outstanding. No question went unanswered, she understood exactly what we wanted and went out of her way to make our day so special. Planning our wedding was very easy with Karen and we were never stressed.
On our wedding day my husband had stayed in the hotel the night before. He states that the hotel went out of their way that morning to make sure he was ok and prepared for the day. We had brought personal things to the wedding venue eg: sweets, favours etc and they had set everything up as we had asked.
Paul (the manager for the day) was exceptional. He went out of his way to make sure that not only we were ok and looked after but that all our guests were looked after too.
We had our pictures taken around the hotel and it’s grounds. You would be mad to go elsewhere.
From the food, drink and service everything was perfect.
All our guests raved about the hotel, their rooms, the staff, the food and the wedding itself. People were genuinely impressed with everything on the day.
If I was to live our wedding day over again I would pick the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links again as I truly believe there is no better venue out there.
