If you are anything like me, you’re a little terrified of a camera. Not in a ‘steal your soul’ sort of sense, but maybe in a more ‘double chin selfie’ way. Although selfies and constantly being camera ready is the norm in today’s world, not everyone loves having their photo taken. For those photogenic but frightened people, here are 3 secrets to nailing your wedding photos.
Make Sure Your Photographer Knows Your Venue
There could be a particularly photogenic location nearby or a landmark that you would love shot so it’s important to make note of these points to your photographer before the day. If they haven’t shot at the location before, it may be worth meeting them at the venue.
Get Personal With Your Photographer
It’s important that you and your photographer click and that you have a similar understanding. Discuss what you would like the day to look like (sometimes examples help) and let them tell your story.
Don’t Let The Amateurs Get in The Way
It sounds harsh, but if you want pretty pictures (especially of the ceremony), it may be worth asking your guests to switch off for a while. A lot of couples will have different preferences when it comes to social media and their wedding day. A perfect photo can be ruined with a few iPhones!
Let Moments Just Happen
This is especially important if you want a behind-the-scenes style of wedding photography. The moments of the day can’t be forced and they will just have to happen on their own. Try to enjoy the day for what it is and let it happen.
