A divine doe-eyed bride with electric blue Jimmy Choo heels…
Serene – we couldn’t think of a more fitting way to describe this visionary bride. Maria and Ian’s special day was a beautiful blend of vintage and boho.
Adding her own personal touches to the church and venue, Maria decorated the ballroom with DIY center pieces to achieve the relaxed feel they had in mind.
Her Don O’Neill ethereal gown featured a stunning beaded bodice with flowing chiffon skirt, topped off by a simple Baby’s Breath flower crown. In keeping with their laid back style, her cropped denim jacket even made an appearance during their wedding photo shoot.
These sweethearts only had eyes for each other.
The Beginning…
“We first met on the night of Maria’s 18th birthday party in our local town – and we have been together since!”
The Engagement…
“We were on holiday in Malta, staying in a beautiful seafront town called Sliema. One night, we went out for dinner in a lovely restaurant and afterwards Ian got down on one knee as we walked along the promenade. It was such a beautiful moment. My parents, brother and sister-in-law were also holidaying with us, so it was lovely to share our celebrations with them.”
On The Photographer…
“Our photographer, Clare Frances, was just lovely. She was so easy to get along with and very low-key on the day, which is exactly what we were looking for. She captured so many natural photos and that’s all we wanted. We are really delighted with the outcome.”
On The Venue…
“One of our friends recommended The Abbey Hotel to us, so we said we would go and check it out for our own wedding. We were very impressed from the get-go and booked our date straight away! The wonderful staff and delicious food were the wow factors for us. A lot of our guests said the food on the day was fantastic.”
“We would like to say a huge thank you to our suppliers; Jenna from Folkster Bridal in Kilkenny, I can’t praise her enough, she was just brilliant – a true gem! Declan Molloy of Molloys Bakery Roscommon was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our band, the Converse Allstars – our guests were dancing all night long and Eileen from Louis Copeland in Dublin City was really helpful when we were choosing Ian’s suit. The staff at Michael Ward’s Menswear in Ballinasloe were also fantastic with helping the groomsmen with their suits.”
A huge thanks to Maria and Ian for sharing their wedding story at The Abbey Hotel Roscommon with us and to their photographer Clare Frances Photography for allowing us to publish these stunning shots. You can see more of her work at www.cfphotographer.com
