All about the Hats

One of the main reasons that so many women tuned into the Royal Wedding last Friday was to check out the style of the ladies attending.  I believe that female guests to the wedding of the year, were all asked to wear hats not fascinators, and there were some amazing ones on display – Philip Treacy must have cleaned up!

This year, I predict the rise of the hat in wedding trends, they can really transform an outfit and give the real wow-factor.  If Philip Treacy is a little out of your price-range there are some great independent milliners around the country, so keep your eye out and do try to support these local businesses, instead of just buying a hat in Debenhams.  At least you will know that no one else will be wearing the same thing!

Aisling Ahern is a young designer based in Roscommon, and while her collection at present is mostly geared to the races, they could also double as great wedding hats.  Check her out on www.aislingahern.com.
