These days, we are a culture that live and breathe in photos. More than ever, we speak the language of imagery. Even more so, couples are now more invested in the perfect wedding photo. Trying more elaborate styles of photography and even locations are pretty much a given now, and we have to say we love this! When it comes to great wedding photos, they are pretty much an investment for great memories.
We have to say, Gort is one of the most majestic locations for wedding photos in Ireland and with the help of John, Wedding Coordinator at Lady Gregory Hotel & Swan Leisure Club, we have picked out some of the best secret spots.
Wild Atlantic Way
This world-renowned coastal route and spans several of Ireland’s counties, with some breath-taking scenery along the way. This would be a gorgeous honeymoon trip in its own right and for wedding photos, it is just perfect. For engagement shoots, John recommends heading to Invar a picturesque seaside fishing town for wedding photos, John also recommends “Dunguaire castle overlooking the mystical Burren region and on the shores of Galway Bay, a short stroll from Kinvara.
Coole Park
“Coole Park has to be one of my favourite recommendations for couples and guests,” says John. “If it’s a gorgeous day, it has to be done. Flowers blooming, mowed grass and the sun on your face… a little slice of heaven! Plus, since we’re just 5km away, it really makes for an ideal photo shoot location”. In the early 20th Century Coole Park was the centre of the Irish Literary Revival, Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, John Millington Synge and Sean o Casey all came to experience its magic.
The gorgeous park is so captivating; it was recently voted 4th Best Park to visit in Ireland from Trip Advisor!
The Burren
Just a 20-minute drive from Lady Gregory Hotel, the Burren can only be described as hauntingly beautiful. The Burren National Park is a small portion of the Burren and is one of only 6 national parks in Ireland as well as being the smallest in size. Three quarters of Ireland’s species of flowers can also be located in the Burren. “If you love Ireland’s culture and natural history, there really is no better location for you. This is a stunning spot and will be a huge talking point when sharing your wedding album with friends and family”.
