Our One Month Anniversary

It’s the end of our first month in public launch here at WeddingDates.ie and it’s been the best month since we started demoing the service and signing up hotels way back in February 2008. The feedback from wedding couples, venues and advertisers has been phenomenal.

We also got to send out invitations of our own, when we sent out our fun launch postcards to 500 wedding venues around Ireland to introduce the site and invite them to view their free basic listing. The office phone started ringing and venues started contacting me instead of the other way round! This is obviously a delightful result, and we’ve had loads of new hotels and venues sign up this month.

Some of our favourites:

  • Darby O’Gills – Kerry: A family run country house hotel in the heart of Kerry, just a few minutes from the beautiful town centre of Killarney.
  • Muckross Park – Kerry: Newly refurbished (the bedrooms are so opulent), they also have the most romantic spot where you can arrange a private engagement proposal.
  • Ashbourne Marriott – Meath: Chic and contemporary with a soaring atrium, this is an ideal venue for your modern wedding and our first hotel in County Meath.
  • The Clarence – Dublin: Bono’s posh pad in the middle of Dublin! There are so many chic spaces here that you can use for cocktails, dining, and dancing the night away.
  • Ballygarry House – Kerry: A traditional, gracious country estate with amazing views of the Kerry Mountains and private landscaped gardens ideal for photos.
  • Blackrock Castle Observatory – Cork: A 16th Century castle on the banks of the Lee, this is an amazing venue at night if you’re looking for something a little different.
  • Cork Vision Center – Cork: Another Cork venue you might not have been aware does weddings. This is a brilliant space for your party – so brilliant, we’re having ours there!

We’ve also had more than 13,000 page views since launch day, which is a really great result for our first month. Looking forward to December, we’ve big press and marketing pushes, so it’s all going on at WeddingDates.ie!
