Bedouin wedding in the Jordan desert

We have been following the expolits of the Honeymoon testers as they renew their wedding vows around the world attempting to break the Guinness World Record.  Last week, the winners of the Ultimate Job in Ireland clocked up wedding number 41!
Mark and Denise Duffield-Thomas, aka The Honeymoon Testers,  renewed their vows in Jordan’s Wadi Rum desert, in pure Bedouin-style, in their bid to beat the world record of ‘most married’ couple.  Dressed in traditional Bedouin clothes, The Honeymoon Testers renewal number 41 was conducted by their horse riding guide Attalyh, followed by a procession and chanting.

I think Mark really suits the Sheik, me not so much in a long black dress and headscarf,” says Denise. “We had a great time though, a lot of dancing around the fire and watching our driver Mohammed belly dance along to the songs.

Mark and Denise spent three weeks visiting Jordan, as part of their world tour testing wedding and honeymoon destinations for Irish company Runaway Bride and Groom. The Jordan trip included 10 days camping and horse and camel riding through the Wadi Rum desert.

We have had the most amazing time in Jordan, it has really been an incredible journey and a life-changing experience,” adds Denise. “We will remember Jordan for its contrasts and all the new experiences we’ve had there, for its incredibly friendly people but also for the romance and history of its cultural sites and the stunning beauty of its pristine seas. It’s an adventure into the unexpected we would highly recommend.

Mark and Denise Duffield Thomas won the Ultimate Job in Ireland – and probably the World in May. You can follow their adventures on their blog www.thehoneymoontesters.com
