It’s official, bridal veils are back! With celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Kate Moss and of course the woman who brought it all back Kate Middleton having shown their love for veils in the last two years it’s no wonder we’re all catching on to the trend. As we mentioned yesterday, bridal veils are traditionally a symbol of purity but nowadays stand for elegance. There’s something so classy and vintage about veils. Maybe it’s because they’re not as common as they once were but if you’re looking for something special for your bridal look, a veil is the way to go!
The best thing about veils is that they really come in all shapes and sizes so there’s really a veil for every bride and dress! If you have no idea where to start, here are some key lengths to get you started:
Birdcage
Sophisticated and perfect for pixie cuts and up dos, a birdcage veils does wonders to frame the face. A very 50’s vintage look, birdcage veils look amazing with tea length dresses!
Shoulder Length
A classic veil length, shoulder length can be as extravagant or as no fuss as you like. Depending on the amount of layers, you can make this look as simple as you like!
Elbow length (30″)
These veils look incredible with a fitted waistline and full length dress!
Fingertip Length (36″)
Usually not worn with gowns that have a train, think of this look as upping the notch on formality. Fingertip length is quite a commitment so bare in mind how you will need to move around for the day.
Cathedral Length (Floor Length)
Not for the faint of heart, cathedral length is usually reserved for a more formal wedding. This look is perfect if you want something dramatic and stand out for your look. Again, remember that you have keep your eye on the veil or train at all times… Cos you easily could end up with some guests trampling on it!
