Great news for the stunning Belleek Castle this week. The gorgeous Mayo wedding venue has won Best Hotel Restaurant in Mayo as well as Best Restaurant Manager in Connaught. The kitchen team under Head Chef Stephen Lenahan, who is famous for his innovative cookery, are the dream team behind this amazing win for the castle. The Medieval Banqueting Hall that dates back to 14th Century is without a doubt, simply stunning. With 16th Century carved oak paneling sitting behind a 21ft antique top table, Belleek Castle’s scenery provides an amazing backdrop for couples and guests.
Ms Maya Nikolaeva, Belleek Castle’s General Manager had plenty of praise to offer when speaking of Daniel Mayr, Restaurant Manager. Ms Nikolaeva mentioned, “Daniel joined our Belleek team in summer 2013, proving his skills and ability in various events at the Castle, as well as any day-to-day business in our busy restaurant.”
Daniel mentions “ I am delighted to receive this award, but its not only for me, it reflects on all our restaurant staff at Belleek! It is a wonderful team and they are a pleasure to work with”.
Daniel also noted that a lot of work has gone into making their food for restaurants and events outstanding. “A lot of hard work has gone into this success! The lead into 2014 has been excellent for us, also winning the Georgina Campbell’s ‘JUST ASK’ Restaurant of the Year” says Head Chef Stephen Lenahan, “and we are eager to compete for the all Ireland in June.”
Wow, we are delighted for Belleek Castle. And, we have definitely worked up a healthy appetite from hearing all this great news. We may need to take an on-site visit soon. For research purposes of course!
