Bridal Beauty Blunders To Avoid

Bridal Beauty Blunders To Avoid

So, officially, I’ve never been a bride, but I have been unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of some terrible beauty blunders. Often, when it comes to a big event like a wedding, last minute planning can end in some rash decisions. And to be honest, this is where I have usually fallen short. So, take heed ladies, here are some bridal beauty blunders to avoid.

Tanning Too Close To The Day

It all began when I was invited to a debs. I was 16 at the time and fairly chuffed to be asked really. But being as white as the Macbook I am currently typing into, I had received some advice to fake it tan wise. Although skeptical about the decision, I decided to give it a go (I wanted to look cool after all). It was the day before the Debs and I had asked for the lightest colour they offered. Which was fine, except what I didn’t know was that it would look it’s darkest on the first day. The tan of course looked just fine 2-3days later, but by then I had already sworn myself off the stuff forever. I’ve slowly warmed myself back to the idea (for the sake of a good photo of course) but it has taken a few years! Similarly, there was a girl there who had been invited to two separate events and tried to make the stuff last a whole week. So maybe don’t plan that far ahead!

Letting Someone You Don’t Know Do Your Brows

You’re eyebrows are very much a distinguishing part of your face. A friend (who will remain nameless) once told me about an emergency brow job she needed. She rang up to book the next available time with a woman she’d never met. She was so busy that day she managed not to meet her reflection until the end of the night… Let’s just say she’s never missed a date with her regular since! In general, getting a wax, facial, or anything done to your hair less than a week before a big event is probably not a great idea.

Remember your Bridal Emergency Kit

Trust us… This bridal emergency kit will be a lifesaver! Safety pins, double sided tape, a mini sewing kit, a bleach pen, blotting papers, gum, deodorant, a personal tissue pack, make-up wipes could all come in handy. It may seem high-maintenance but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Carry a mini touch up bag and re-apply just after the meal. Sweating and 12+ of hair and make-up will eventually wear though your look. If your MUA is using products you don’t already own, find out where you can purchase some of them.
