Bridal Beauty: Fake Tan For Your Wedding

Fake tan is almost like an acquired taste, you either love it or you hate it. Most women either couldn’t image not having fake tan in their lives, or they steer clear as it frightens the life out of them!

Although fake tan may go in and out of fashion in the future, I can assure you it’s here to stay! Upon planning your bridal beauty regime, you should decide whether or not you will wear fake tan on your wedding day. If you always wear tan , this will be an easy decision for you. There are still some fake tanning steps and procedures you should follow in the run up to your big day. No bride wants to be left with a fake tan disaster on the morning of her wedding!

Brides who are not so keen on the fake tan trend may have a little more consideration to do before making a decision. I would suggest, even if you don’t usually wear tan, to get a light spray tan done a few days before the wedding. This will give you a nice glow, and have you looking your finest in your wedding photographs! The lighting used can often drain the bride so it can be important to have a light tan, especially in that stunning white dress!

Some Tips When Getting Your Tan Done:

  • I would advise every bride to go to a professional salon to get your spray tan done. No matter how much of an expect you are, mistakes can be made. Anyway, you should be trying to relax in the days before your wedding. Not attempting to apply tan on your back!
  • Exfoliate every few days beginning a month before the wedding (or earlier if you wish!). This really is the key to achieving the perfect false tan. If your skin isn’t prepared I’m afraid you simply can’t blame the beautician!
  • Get your spray tan done 2 or 3 days before the big day, this will give your skin a chance to take to it and also give you time to get a top up if you would prefer a slightly darker look.
  • Once you have washed your fake tan off properly, try on your wedding dress one last time (I’m sure I don’t have to ask you twice!). Be sure that you are happy with the colour teamed with your dream dress. You don’t want to be worrying about this the morning of the wedding!

If I haven’t quite convinced you that even a light spray tan is a good choice for your wedding, that is ok too. You want to look and feel your best on your wedding day and if you are happier going without fake tan, go for it! I am sure you will look as beautiful as ever with or without.
