Bridal Blog: Lisa's Wedding Menu

This month, we’ve asked our brides to share with us their wedding food stories. This week we’re reading all about Bride Blogger Lisa’s story about her gorgeous wedding menu… Well, let’s just say we were happy it wasn’t close to lunch time….

As stated in their wedding brochure, ‘ The Harvey’s Point wedding banquet is truly a feast fit for a King and Queen’. I had so many different options to choose from in our wedding menu since picking the Supreme Day Package. My guests will be welcomed on arrival with Tea, Coffee and Home-made cookies which are to die for! I had the luxury of trying them when booking my wedding reception… Delicious!

I hope I get a beautiful sunny day in September… and I thought my guests would appreciate a glass of alcoholic fruit punch and Prosecco in the marquee before dining in the Gourmet Suite.

I will have a four course wedding banquet. I have chosen cream of vegetable soup as the first course. It’s my favourite and will suit our vegetarian guests. My second course will be the Chefs Starter Banquet which consists of Prawn Cocktail, Paté & Salami, Poultry Curry Salad, Waldorf Salad, Egg Mayonnaise, Tuna Salad, Tomato & Mozzarella, Coleslaw Salad, Fresh Fruit Platters, Potato Salad, Pizza Slices, Melon, Cold Meat Platter, Marinated Chicken, Fresh Mussels, Smoked Irish Salmon, Atlantic Oysters, Garlic Bread, Barbecue Ribs and much more…. Phew!

The third course will be the main, where my guests will have a choice of three main courses. I have chosen Farmhouse Turkey & Baked Donegal Ham, Roast Prime Irish Sirloin of Beef & Whiskey Cream and Fillet of Salmon, Creamed Leeks and Beurre Blanc.

Last course but certainly not least is The Pastry Chef’s Dessert Bangquet which contains Ice Cream, Fresh Fruit Salad, Crepes, Apple Tart, Sherry Trifle, Chocolate Gateau, Baileys Mousse, Chocolate Mousse, Tiramisu, Banoffi Pie, Jelly, Exotic Fruit Cheese Cake, Strawberry Mousse, Carrot Cake, Selection of Pastries, Créme Brulée, Black Forest Gateau AND a Selection of Cheese… Yum!

I think the banquet idea is brilliant, my guests will be spoilt for choice and there will be something that suits everyone, happy guests mean a happy bride!

Tea, Coffee and those amazing home made cookies will be offered to guests after dinner.
I will have an evening buffet consisting of Chicken Goujons, Sandwiches, Cocktail Chipolatas, Italian Pizettes and Savoury Rolls. I am more than confident that my guests will be completely satisfied with the food on the day as the reviews have been outstanding.
