Celebrity Wedding: Natalie Portman marries choreographer Benjamin Millepied

Hollywood beauty Natalie Portman married her choreographer partner Benjamin on Saturday August 4th. The Oscar winning 31 year old wed in Big Sur, California. It was  a traditional Jewish wedding held at a private home.

The couple met on the set of The Black Swan in the autumn of 2009. Benjamin was working as a choreographer on the set while Natalie starred in the movie alongside Mila Kunis. The actress went on to win an Academy Award for her role. By December 2010 the couple had announced they were engaged and expecting their first child.

Natalie Portman’s white lace wedding dress was made by Rodarte. The gown was an A-line style tea length dress with long see through sleeves. The actress had her hair in curls and wore a veil with a floral garland. Sweet and simple. She also traded her heels for ballet flats. The groom wore a dark blue tuxedo. The couple were joined by a small number of family and friends, including celebrity friends Ivanka Trump and Macaulay Culkin.

The wedding took place underneath a traditional jewish chuppah (a type of canopy) in the dark. The couple chose macaroons to replace a wedding cake in honour of Benjamin’s French roots. A vegan feast was also served to suit Natalie’s diet. The newly-weds were joined by their 14 month old son, Aleph, on their special day. At the end of the evening as a favour, each guest received a packet of wildflower seeds with the word ‘merci’.

So there we have it, Natalie Portman has once again shown she is one of the classiest actresses in Hollywood by enjoying her day in privacy with those who mean the most to her. Celebrities are known to announce that their weddings will be a ‘laid-back’ and ‘quiet’ affair until weeks later when ‘leaked’ photos are plastered all over the media. Natalie stayed true to her word and her values. I am certain this made the day ever more special for her, Benjamin and their guests!
