Choosing Your Bridal Hair

Choosing Your Bridal Hair

Many brides have an idea of their perfect look will be. More than likely, this idea will change slightly once you’ve decided on your wedding theme and menu. But it rarely alters from what you know looks best on you. The same goes for your bridal hair. If you’ve never liked curls and you buy a 40’s vintage dress, you probably won’t automatically want finger wave curls.

You know what makes you look good and feel beautiful and comfortable, so don’t deviate from them too much. Remember you fiancé is marrying you for the way you look now, not some imaginary person you create on your big day!

Here are some tips on choosing your bridal hair

Make sure you have a good hairdresser who knows and understands you well. You want to feel confident that he/she can create a look that you will be thrilled with and can accentuate your features and complement your gown and accessories perfectly

If you don’t have a regular hairdresser that you feel confident with, try and find someone as far in advance as possible. The best way to find a hairdresser is word of mouth. Has your sister/friend a hairdresser that can work wonders? It’s also important that you get on well with and can communicate your ideas with this person.

When you have your wedding dress chosen, take a photograph of it to your hairdresser and discuss with them what would look good with this style. Pinterest is your best friend here. It’s the easiest way of showing your hair stylist what you really mean. If you say “pixie” cut, that could mean something totally different to what your hairdresser is thinking.

Invest in a practice run two months before the big day. Get it done early in the day to see how it holds up and double it up with your make-up to get the full effect. Why not do it on the same night as your hen do so you can get the most out of the practice run?
