Everyone with a smartphone or iPhone account and an Instagram will get this. Looking though your profile and bringing back so memories of a day. There’s something so special about a photo that can document a day. And weddings are definitely included in that.
While some couples are very open to their day being instagramed, to the point of hastagging the day, others want nothing to do with social media on their day.
To be fair, many other obnoxious social media habits (like texting during the ceremony) have been picked up over the years from the rise of the mobile phone.
So we had to ask you, do you think smartphones should be banned at weddings?
32% of you decided that no, phones should not be banned, with 16% explaining that their guests should hashtag their day. The other 16% admitted that they will ask their guests not to take photos and post them online.
24% believe it’s rude for their guests to get distracted by their phones deciding that they should be banned. We have to admit, while this may seem extreme, we can completely understand why.
That leaves 42% of you who are still unsure whether or not you will allow your guests smartphones at your wedding. This is totally understandable. While photos of your guests’ antics are fun to see after (kind of like a behind the scenes of your day) there’s no counting for guests who may take it too far. With such a relatively new technology, it’s hard to know where the etiquette for a big event lies.
