Una and Graham chose the elegant Europa Hotel, Belfast wedding venue as the location for their special day. The wedding was photographed by Gabrielle of Pop Photography on the 11th of October 2013 and Una may not admit it, but it was definitely love at first sight.
“We met when we were both working in our local Tesco store. Graham said I fancied him from the moment I saw him, but I disagree!!”
“For the proposal, we had gone to my Aunts house for a family dinner. Graham said he wanted to talk to me outside and when I turned round he was down on one knee and there was a big banner held up saying ‘Will you marry me?’ After lots of screaming and crying I said ‘Yes’.”
“We had looked at several other hotels, but the Europa was the best of the bunch. I liked the fact that it was in a central location and convenient for our guests. When we had our first meeting with the Events Manager I knew that it would be the venue for us!”
“The staff in the Europa have been so good to us from our first visit to our last, which was for our 1st anniversary last month. Nothing is ever too much trouble and we are made feel like royalty each time we visit.”
“For our wedding photography, a friend of Grahams had recommended Gabi and we are so delighted that he did – we have made a friend for life in her.”
“The weather was amazing the day we got married and I was delighted, as I wanted to get a photo on the roof under the famous Europa Hotel sign. The views out over Belfast that day made a beautiful backdrop for our photos.”
“Graham and I had been together for 12 years when we got engaged so I thought there was no point in hanging around. I started planning in the February and we got married in October. I didn’t mind the planning, people who know me know that I like to be organised so I had a few spreadsheets which I relied on!”
“For our wedding menu, our guests had a choice for each course. The meal was beautiful and after we had beautiful wedding cake which a childhood friend of mine made.”
“I didn’t follow any particular wedding themes, I had lots of different ideas which I had got from magazines and websites so it was a mix. The room we had our evening reception in was a blank canvas and Charm Wedding Studio decorated the room exactly how I wanted it. It looked beautiful.”
“My wedding dress was a Justin Alexander and I got it in Pronuptia in Belfast. I had seen the dress in the first bridal magazine I bought and fell in love with it, then I loved it even more when I tried it on. My mum cried when she saw me in it and I just knew that was the one. My sister and cousin wore dresses from Coast.”
“If I had to give advice to couples planning their weddings, it would be that it’s true what people always say – enjoy it and make the most of it as the day itself goes past so quickly. Pick a good venue with staff you can trust and you won’t have any worries.”
“The best part of our wedding day was having all of our friends and family together for a big party. It was great to see so many people although we didn’t get the time to have a proper chat with everyone.”
“If I could relive just one part of the day it would probably walking out of the church as Mr and Mrs! We didn’t have time to take it all in on the day.”
A huge congratulations and thanks to Una & Graham for sharing their stunning wedding day with us. Check out the Europa Hotel, Belfast wedding venue for your perfect big day. If you want to see more work from Gabrielle, visit the Pop Photography website.
