A party to announce you are having a party?! Engagement Dos are becoming a big deal and couples are throwing (sometimes quite lavish) parties to announce their wedding to the world. Tricky business these Engagement Parties, coz naturally everyone you invite to the engagement do, will probably expect to be invited to the wedding and if you are just newly engaged chances are you haven’t nailed down the guest list yet…
Anyway, if you DO get invited to go to an engagement party, then you are also probably expected to bring a gift. Personally I wouldn’t go over the top here, we are in a recession after all and if you end up going to the wedding too, you are going to have to buy the happy couple ANOTHER present and fork out for the hotel, outfit etc.
