Often wedding guests can be a little like being on the red carpet. While it might not feel as though you are about to win an Oscar, a lot of eyes will be on you so it’s important to make sure you choose carefully. Here are a few fashion tips for wedding guests.
Always Bring a Spare Pair
It’s more than likely that you will be 12+ hours on your feet; walking to and from the ceremony, posing for photos and dancing the night away. After a few hours or so, your feet will be come swollen and uncomfortable. We say bring a spare pair but be careful, once you have removed shoes it can be impossible to get them back on swollen feet.
Pay Attention To Your Dress Code
We always say, it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed! Even if a wedding is casual, wear a nice dress and match well. Dress for the venue you will be attending and watch out for any specific instructions from the bride and groom. And when it comes to weddings, when in doubt, avoid black or white.
When in Doubt, Cover Up
When it comes to a big family event we always prefer to make sure that we are covered up. The above the knee/cleavage rule is usually enough for us to abide by. While most brides might not mind what you wear on their day, there may be some ladies or family members of theirs who would not be happy with a guest who looks like a member of The Saturdays. If you have to wear a fancy multi-wear bra or forgo it entirely for double sided tape, chances are that you shouldn’t wear the outfit.
