Feed Your Skin: DIY Bridal Beauty Treatments

We’ve all faced it from time to time (no pun intended) – run down skin. If we’re a little over worked or stressed about something (like planning a wedding), it’s very natural for our skin to replicate that feeling. While that may be fine to deal with in most cases, the weeks leading up to your big day should be a marathon of health for your skin. Great and glowing skin doesn’t usually happen overnight but with some bridal beauty treatments, your skin be phenomenal. And you may also find that treating yourself can be a fantastic stress buster.

Homemade Foot Scrub:

  • 1 part Epsom salt
  • 1 part baking soda
  • 2 drops of essential oil
  • Mixed with 3-4 litres of water

Once mixed together, soak your feet in a basin for 20-30 minutes.

Detox Face Mask:

  • 1 red grapefruit, mashed
  • 1 part cooked and cooled oatmeal
  • 1 cup of milk

Mix together in one small bowl, apply to freshly cleaned face and leave for 15-20 minutes.

Puffy Eyes:

Peel raw potatoes, cutting in half. Place halves over your eyes for 10 to 15 minutes. The potato will cool your eyes and decrease swelling. An easier alternative is to place two spoons in a fridge to cool and place over eyes. For a quick fix, splash cool water over eyes first thing in the morning.
