When we heard that Annebrook House Hotel had a visit from Frog Prince Events, we couldn’t wait to find out more! Adele Mizzell, wedding and events coordinator at Annebrook House Hotel, Co. Westmeath wedding venue told us all about the experience.
We love, love, loved what Frog Prince Events did to the ballroom at Annebrook recently! It’s so versatile! Tell us all!
“Ah we loved it too… they just totally transformed the room! It was amazing how different it looked. The bride & groom also had their civil ceremony here so they were able to really go all out with two different looks for the rooms.
Frog Prince Events pipe ‘n’ draped the entire room which included their fab fairy-light backdrop. They also brought in huge candelabras with fresh flowers arranged in the middle of them. They were placed on glass boxes throughout the room for the ceremony and then used them for table centre pieces for half of the tables afterwards. On the remainder of the tables they placed, what resembled to be, tall glass lamps with fresh orchids that were dropped into the base. This is only some details of what they did but it really did look fabulous!”
It must have been so exciting seeing the whole place transformed. What kind of options and decór styles do couples have in Annebrook? Or is it endless?
“It definitely was and as I had never seen the room pipe ‘n’ draped before, it was even more exciting because I just couldn’t picture it in my head. The different options and décor styles that couples opt for really are endless… we have seen so many here. A lot of people like to keep it simple with a few personalised bits included, other couples incorporate themes maybe based on their lifestyles, personalities or even their careers. And we have couples who like to go all out with a theme which is based on the particular season or a hobby that they are into.”
Do the different seasons bring different elements and décor to the hotel and the weddings that you see?
“Yes definitely, we find that the colours they choose, style of cake, even the menu that they decide on depends on the time/season of the year. We actually had a wedding very recently around Halloween where the couple had a black and white theme with regards the dresses/suits, and the whole room was decorated for Halloween with pumpkins, spider webs, black candelabras etc. It looked great in the end. They even had a fancy dress evening party which was brilliant.”
It must give you great ideas and inspiration to see what Frog Prince Events did here at Annebrook; have you any new ideas or plans for the future?
Yes definitely… like I said they transformed the room in ways that we didn’t think were possible so they have given us loads of new ideas. We are actually thinking of designing a package to include full room décor similar to what they did recently so we look forward to discussing and planning that in the coming months.
There have been so many wedding decor trends this year….. naked cakes being one of our favourites at WeddingDates! What has been your favourite or what have you seen the most of?
In relation to room décor, I would probably have to say that my favourite was the one that Frog Prince done. The Halloween themed one was one of my favourites too. We have also had a lot of weddings this year that have went for the vintage theme which is always really nice . As regards a specific trend, we have had loads of weddings that have had either a sweet cart or a photo booth as part of the evening reception.
If you had words of advice for couples thinking about their wedding decor and style what would they be?
I would probably say if you are thinking of going down the road of having a specific theme, choose one and stick to it. Sometimes if you think of mixing up a couple of different themes/trends, it just might not end up how you envisioned it initially. Also, always remember that sometimes less is more.
Thanks so much to Adele for taking the time to tell us about this amazing wedding, check out Annebrook House Hotel, Co. Westmeath wedding venue for your big day!
