How To Get Glowing Skin For Your Wedding

We all want youthful glowing skin but often feel it is out of our reach. Here are some simple daily steps which will help you achieve a radiant complexion in time for your big day.

Expert Skin Specialist Jeanne Brophy gives us the low-down.

Your skin is a reflection of your health

I know we would all prefer not to hear this but your daily diet will also affect your complexion.  Many processed foods starve skin of water and leave  our complexions looking tired and dull.  A simple first step is to increase your water intake every day.  Make it a habit and your skin will really thank you for it.  Aim to drink two litres of water or herbal teas daily. This will allow your skin to detox effectively but also many of your skins functions require water.  If you don’t drink enough your skin cannot carry out its role effectively.  If you really want to take this to the next level, include a Nutri Bullet or vegetable juice daily.  The concentrated antioxidants contained in the juice will help your skin protect itself, provide radiance and slow the ageing process.

Apply an active serum twice daily

Serums are the most concentrated forms of active ingredients in skincare.  Choose a serum with anti-oxidants such as vitamin A or vitamin C and watch your skin glow.  These skincare must-haves help to prevent pigmentation, lighten and brighten dull skins, reduce inflammation and boost collagen.  Take some professional advice on choosing the one most suitable to your skin type.

Apply a sunscreen

97 per cent of premature ageing is caused by sun damage so its no wonder that everyone involved in skincare harps on about the importance of protection against UV damage.  UV damage creates uneven skin colour which makes us look older and lose that youthful glow.  Prevention as always is better than cure so make it a daily habit as early as possible before your wedding.

Cleanse twice daily

Sometimes taking makeup off after a hard day seems like a grueling challenge but it’s one that is well worth completing.  Most professional cleansers are water soluble so can be used as a fast face wash if you are looking for a quick fix. Use a mild cleanser that wont strip or irritate the skin and ditch the cleansing wipes. These can rob the skin of moisture.

Exfoliate Regularly

Dead lifeless cells sitting at the surface of your skin will give skin a grey hue.  Help your skins renewal process by adding an exfoliant twice weekly. They say everything becomes a habit after three weeks.  Choose to make a habit of healthy skin and wait for the compliments to roll in on your special day.
