A 50th Wedding Anniversary is often called a golden wedding anniversary, and indeed calls for some grand celebration. To have spent half a century together in marriage, this is a time where you can celebrate the love and friendship you have shared with your loved one throughout this distance. However one chooses to celebrate this occasion, depends on your personal preference, perhaps you might holiday somewhere together where you have become frequent visitors, or you could share this special day with loved ones in the hotel where you first got married!
Mr and Mrs Gribbin returned to the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin for their 5oth Wedding Anniversary. They celebrated the occasion with close family and friends on July 14th. The couple held the reception of their wedding in the hotel half a century ago on July 16th 1962 and chose to return to relive the day.
The collage above shows the happy couple on their wedding day, in addition to a photo taken on the day of the anniversary celebrations where they experience the moment of cutting the cake as they did in 1962. As you can see above Mr and Mrs Gribbin still have their original wedding menu from their special day as a keepsake.
What special items do you still cherish from your wedding day? Will you hold them close to dig out upon your golden wedding anniversary?
