American muscle never looked so pretty! James and Kirsty’s berry hued autumnal affair was completely in sync with the vibrancy of the season.
Happy first wedding anniversary to this lovely pair who were married at Hillgrove Hotel & Spa on 12th November 2016!
The Proposal
“James seemingly had this planned for months. We were on holidays in Spain with my mum and dad. After dinner a few days into our holiday, my mum and dad both said they were tired and were having an early night. We decided to go out for a few drinks by ourselves and walked along the beach to my favourite bar. Whilst walking on the sand James stopped, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. We continued towards the bar and were greeted by my mum and dad and a few bottles of champagne to cheers our happy news.”
The Venue
“We came to the Hillgrove Hotel because they were holding a wedding fayre and as soon as I stepped inside, I knew it was where I wanted to get married. We didn’t need to look any further. I loved how vibrant and welcoming the hotel felt. It gave us multiple excuses to go down and visit – it’s super child-friendly so my three nieces and my nephew always begged to come along! I think they loved it as much as we did, not to mention the delicious food. The lights, the chairs, the décor, everything about the Hillgrove screamed YES to me. I was sold!”
“What impressed us most about the Hillgrove was their attention to detail. Everything was very elegant and beautifully laid out. During the lead up to the wedding our coordinator, Mary, sent me emails to remind me to do certain things. It relieved my stress levels, in fact I wasn’t stressed at all whilst planning our wedding! It all went so smoothly and everything was perfectly timed. We hired a red Mustang as our wedding car and the Hillgrove Hotel’s doors open fully to allow the car to park inside the lobby area. Mary kept me updated and told me where to go and what to do throughout the day, it was brilliant and I felt like a princess. I could fault nothing. Mary and the team were so helpful and couldn’t do enough, she really was a god send!”
The Photographer
“Our wedding photographer Alan Wells went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and took the most amazing photos. Because our wedding was in November, the leaves on the trees were beautiful bright shades of orange and red. Alan completely took advantage of this wonderful background which resulted in some stunning shots. The moment we received our wedding album, I completely fell in love. I fell in love with the design, the quality, the layout…everything. Alan is a very easy person to work with and he has a fantastic sense of humour.”
A Special Thank You
“My makeup by Kelly-Anne Caddoo at KA Makeup Artistry was beautiful. My hair was created by Grace of Petra’s House of Colour in Armagh. Both girls are incredibly talented at what they do.”
“My mum and dad both had a surprise for us after our meal. They had planned a magician called Mr Majestic to perform and he had us in complete stitches! Everyone loved him. He went around the tables performing magic tricks and then picked my cousin to come up and join him. He put a mask over his face and used him as a puppet, it was hilarious!”
