Looking for the perfect Honeymoon location?
Here at WeddingDates HQ we recommend Lake Garda in Italy.
The town which is alive and buzzing during the day, with tourists cycling through the city and swimming in the lake, is much more serene in the evening, where you can really take in its picturesque like scenery.
We used www.booking.com to find our fabulous Hotel Fornaci in Peschiera. We went for a 2* hotel, which was situated in the perfect location! We had the pier and walkway located directly across from us, while the beautiful town itself was located only a twenty minute cycle away! The hotel itself was absolutely incredible, ran by a friendly Italian woman and her dutch husband, they catered for all our needs, serving a delicious breakfast buffet in the morning, offering a fantastic drinks service throughout the day and evening and giving plenty of advice on things to do and places to go around the town! The hotel is also pet friendly, and the owners often had their little pooch accompanying them, so if you’re a dog-lover you’re in for a treat!
Not to mention the swimming pool here is incredible, and during our stay here in July was the perfect spot for a quiet dip!
Lake Garda, is also situated in the perfect location to take a stunning boat trip across the Lake, with wonderful places like Sirmione and Bardolino only a splash away! However, there’s so much to do there that you’ll have to make a day trip out of each of your travels!
Sirmione in Italy, is really a city of romance, with stunning scenery, a fantastic selection of restaurants and an incredible park.
If you take a trip there you’ll most definitely spend the day eating and drinking in the cities quaint restaurants, down the old-style cobblestone streets! We’d recommend visiting the 13th-century style castle, an exciting and historic adventure for the loved up pair!
Bardolino on the other hand, offers a spectacular wine range which will most definitely quench your thirst! The city is iconic for it’s delicious bubbly made from the finest selection of grapes, picked from the hillside. Olive oil is also readily served here, which you will discover more if you visit the wonderful olive oil museum at Cisano di Bardolino, south of the town. And if you’re looking to shower your loved one with special and unique gifts, this is the ideal spot offering a range of leather goods, perfume and designer clothing!
You know what they say… Italy is the city of lovers.
So if you’re not already loved up to the max, Italy’s stunning sights, cuisine and wines will take you and your loved one straight to cloud nine.
