How to Start Planning Your Wedding

How to Start Planning Your Wedding

Planning your wedding will be insanely exciting and of course, just a little bit stressful! With such a busy time ahead for you both, it can be easy to forget to have a cool headed approach. Here are some tips on how to start planning your wedding:

Budget

  • Decide on a realistic budget for you and your partner.
  • Will you be able to plan the wedding you have dreamt of with the money you have already saved or will you need more time?
  • Are there expenses in your budget you can cut back on?

Paper Work

  • Sounds boring but you need these documents to get married! Find out what is required at the beginning of planning so as to avoid any unnecessary waiting.
  • If you’re having a church ceremony, will you need a pre marriage course?

Delegating

  • Decide who is doing what at the start of your planning… Don’t try and do it all yourself!
  • Consider hiring a wedding planner. They could actually save you money by working with your budget.

Honeymoon

  • Planning a wedding can be expensive but so can a honeymoon! Decide on what you want to spend the majority of your money on. Would you prefer to have a staycation after the wedding and save for your honeymoon? Or do you want a small intimate wedding and a once in a life time honeymoon trip?
