Ideas For Your Gown After Your Wedding

Ideas For Your Gown After Your Wedding

Every bride will have this dilemma after her wedding. What to do with your wedding dress? After all, it will usually end up stored away and protected with moth balls until someone asks to see it or you get a little sentimental. Here are some ideas for your gown after your wedding.

Keep It

Some brides love the idea that they could have a daughter or daughter in-law to wear the gown they once had. For others, it’s the keepsake of pulling out your gorgeous frock every now and again to relive the memories of that happy day.

Trash it

Trash the dress seems to have become a huge trend in the wedding community. Trash the dress is a style of wedding photography that juxtaposes elegant clothing in an environment that seems out of place. The result, is usually a gorgeous photo of a bride in a destroyed dress. If you’re not up for senselessly trashing your gorgeous gown, how about a compromise for charity?

Re-wear it

Is your dress one that could customized, dyed or tailored? Maybe you should consider having it altered. If you love your dress, find a way to keep it in your life! Or, in your wardrobe at least.

Donate it

Maybe there is a bride out there who might appreciate your dress for their day. Especially after spending a lot of money on a dress, donating it is a great way to pay it forward.

Repurpose it

With the gorgeous fabric that went into your gown, who knows what you could recreate with it. A cushion cover, artwork, frame it, make a dress for a child… the options are endless!

What do you plan on doing with your dress after your big day?
