The seventh edition of BMW’s India Bridal Fashion Week failed to disappoint once again this year in New Delhi. A field day for us with magpie tendencies; all that glitters, shines and sparkles was brightly displayed in a series of ultra-glamorous pieces showcasing India’s fabulous crafts and materials. Here are the top 4 moments that completely stole the show for us.
Sonam Kapoor’s Extravagant Open
Sonam Kapoor showed all us brides-to-be how to release our inner drama queen with sheer articulate movements and opulence. The style icon and actress dazzled as she kicked off the week for designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla’s Varanasi bridal collection. With spontaneous and sensual movements up and down the ramp, Kapoor looked every inch the Bollywood goddess, leaving a bridal train of flowing gold in her path.
Vibrant Bridal Trends
When feathers and fringing flounced the runway at Falguni and Shane Peacock’s French Rendezvous show, our hearts did a little flutter. Their eclectic collection inspired by the opulence of vintage France included a blend of colours from soft pinks, corals and champagne golds to fierce scarlet reds and a touch of black. Quite possibly our favourite bridal collection of 2015! It’s sheer beauty and drama lit up our eyes.
Akshara Haasan Wows In Ethereal Innocence
Bollywood acrtress Akshara Haasan rocked the runway in a simple yet breath-taking creation by designer Rina Dhaka. Making a bold statement by breaking the vibrant colours manning the runway all week, she looked effortlessly natural in a light pink and silver embellished bridal creation. Freshness and flowers in bloom were incorporated into the boho piece with 3D petal stitching along the beautiful choli top and her make up was kept minimal to allow her piercing eyes shine brightly. Speaking about the understated elegance of the design, Haasan told IANS: “What I really like about it is the simplicity of the collection. It makes a statement, but subtly. So it’s very simple, sweet and young.”
