Kenmary Bay's Wedding Open Day Success!

Wedding Open Day at the Kenmare Bay Hotel

The Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort held their annual Wedding Open Day on Sunday, 4th March. Blessed with a fine day this time, the attendance was very high and even included quite a few Grooms who had obviously gallantly agreed to give the rugby a miss!

Visitors were treated to a complete showcase event from the very moment of arrival, with the wedding car – a classy, silver Chrysler – parked for all to see at the hotel entrance. Gleaming in the sunlight, it was proudly attended by Mossie, who acts as a reliable and friendly chauffeur for all the hotel’s wedding couples. The pre-reception area was set up as it would be for a wedding, and upstairs the beautiful Banqueting Suite looked spectacular with a complete top table and several guest tables on show. Each table was bedecked with an attractive centre piece which, like all the floral arrangements on the day, was supplied by Kenmare Flowers.

Visitors were able to sample the hotel’s delicious wedding menus and canapés, all prepared and presented by Executive Chef Daniel O’Hanlon. Prospective brides & grooms also got the chance to chat with Daniel and to experience first-hand the passion and dedication he gives to his job.

MC for the event was Sandra Murphy from last year’s TV3 ‘The Apprentice’. Sandra was a great addition; very professional in terms of how she looked and how she spoke. She was full of praise for the hotel and the event and promised to be back as a guest herself before too long.

First prize in the wedding draw on the day was won by Grace O’Shea, who receives €1,000 from the hotel towards her wedding there in June. Second and third prizes of Goody Bags stuffed with items and discount vouchers from the exhibitors, were won by Clodagh Thompson and Kate Cadogan.
Sue Ryan, Sales Manager at the Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort, commented:

“We were very pleased with the way our Open Day went. A lot of our confirmed brides for this year and for next year came along, as well as many prospective couples still undecided about their venue. I hope we showed them that the Kenmare Bay Hotel really lives up to and deserves its awards for Munster Wedding Venue of the year 2010 and Overall Wedding Venue 2011. We always try to go that little bit further in terms of our staff dedication to each and every wedding held at the hotel. Sandra was a great asset on the day; she added a touch of extra professionalism and was very friendly with everyone she came into contact with.”

The Hotel still has a few dates available for 2012 weddings and has just extended its fantastic winter wedding offer, which includes a 25% discount on your menu of choice and 50% discount on Banqueting Wines, to incorporate the month of November 2012, as well as January & February 2013.
