Beautifully traditional with pops of pink. This wedding focused on the basics, keeping things very pretty and romantic.
After 12 years together, Michelle and David celebrated their true happiness with family and friends at the Lough Rea Hotel on July 25th 2015. The bride looked effortlessly glowing in a strapless gown with sweetheart neckline, lace bodice with bow detail and full tulle skirt.
Michelle knew instantly she found a keeper after meeting David on the night of his 21st birthday. After finally convincing her to swap numbers, he promised to text. And that very night he did just that, to check if she returned home safely. What a true gent!
After popping the question at the Lake of Love in Bruges and waiting 12 years to finally become husband and wife, their day was filled with emotion and sentiment. Michelle was even on time for their ceremony – and some of the guests were still outside the church!
“We thought this day would never come. I think the fact that neither of us felt any nerves on the day says it all. I thought I would be very nervous walking up the aisle but I wasn’t. I took in the whole experience from the music, seeing the happy faces of our friends and family and finally seeing Dave at the top of the aisle. I will never forget that feeling of happiness!”
“We were very aware of how expensive weddings can be as a guest, so we wanted to keep it local, we were very fortunate to have such an amazing hotel on our doorstep and once we met with the wedding Coordinator Karen at the Lough Rea Hotel, we knew we were in the best hands. It has a beautiful reception room and a rooftop bar – which was ideal for the party the following day. The one thing that seperates the Lough Rea Hotel from the rest has to be the staff, they are all amazing. No task was too big or too small. Many of our guests commented that the waiting staff was so friendly and efficient. You can’t put a price on good service.”
“We tried to keep everything very traditional. We focused on getting the basics right. Good food and good music. We had a champagne reception and a vintage tea party which went down well with our older guests.”
“Our photographer Lisa Hynes was an absolute dream to have with us on our wedding day. We are both very camera shy and she made us feel completely at ease. She captured the memories of the day perfectly.”
