My latest obsession is Mad Men and all things vintage and when this beauty popped into my inbox I knew there would be a ton of ye out there just like me that would jump at the chance to go to something like this!!
The Workman’s Club in Dublin is hosting a Vintage Valentines Dress Dance, next Monday February 14th…..eeeek!
This Valentine’s Day, February 14th, The Workman’s Club will be recreating an era where quiffs, fire engine red lips, stockings with seams, slow sets and Tom Collin’s were the order of the day. The Workman’s Club will host a Vintage Valentines Dress Dance for lovers and potential suitors, foxy fellas and swingin’ gals!
For the ultimate vintage dancehall experience, Domino Whisker and Paula Cullen will be playing the sounds of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s and €5 vintage cocktails will be a dime a dozen. So challenge a pretty broad to a jive-off, swoon through a slow set or sip on some Harpoons while batting your peepers at the nearest Teddy boy.
Tower Records and the people who bring you MAD MEN will be presenting prizes on the night to those who embody the spirit of the dancehall era, gals and guys with the best moves and the most loved up Valentines sweethearts!
Tickets are just €5 and available on the door. For those making the effort to dress the part, entry will be a mere €4 and doors are at 8pm!
Gals! Get the gang round to your place, get the empire curls set and the gladrags on and who knows, your sweetheart might just be a Manhattan away! Guys! Treat your gal to a swingin’ night but make sure to have her home by 12!
Find out more over on their website or (where else!) on facebook. Channel your inner Joan, “No dull moments, or dull men tolerated” !! 😉 I bet it will be a Valentines night to remember! xx
