Your Prettiest Self With Lovebird Designs

Every time we see a wedding company doing something a little different, we get excited! Whether it’s exciting décor, fun photo shoots or a fresh approach to design.. It really does tickle us. So naturally, when we discovered the stunning photos from Lovebird Designs, we were thrilled and wanted to learn more. Fortunately for us, the ladies from Lovebird Designs are all kinds of lovely and were very kind to take a few minutes to answer some questions for us…

Hi guys! So, what does Lovebird Designs do?

We are event and wedding designers, and we can do as much or as little as required – invitation design, stationary design, floral arrangements, bespoke accessories, venue decoration, and styling. All our designs are bespoke and created individually for every client.

Sounds lovely! What made you decide you wanted to get into the wonderful world of weddings?

A Wedding day is supposed to be the most beautiful day in one’s life, and the most beautiful day needs the most beautiful setting. Having attended good few weddings over the last couple of years we felt that most of them looked exactly the same and lacked personality. We are both designers from different backgrounds – Maggie is a graphic designer, and Kristine is an interior designer. We decided to combine our passion for all things beautiful with our skills set to provide professional services that aim to create a setting that’s unique and represents the couples story and personalities.

Your headpieces are stunning…. Is everything handmade?

Thank you! Everything is handmade. We love to make the bridal headpieces from fresh flowers – in our opinion, fresh flowers in the brides hair truly add that little something, making her feel like a real princess even more. We also use silk flowers to create more casual accessories – every day can be a special day!

What are your favorite décor trends this year so far?

What we love that individuality is slowly but surely coming in – your big day should represent your personality, and no matter what the wedding style is, we’re all for bespoke, quirky and unique! We love the idea of outdoor wedding, be it in the garden or at a beach, but that can be a bit tricky in this country, so we’re happy to stick with traditional venues or marquees.

If you could have any musical guest perform at your wedding, who would it be?

We might be bias here as our partners are both musicians, so we recommend “ 3 Piece Sweet” and “Newfoundland”, they really do go above a beyond for any wedding.

Four Weddings…. Or Don’t Tell The Bride?

Four Weddings is probably our favourite, It gives you an insight into a different styles of weddings. We love the personalities that come from these shows, a mix of the crazy and the norm. We can sometimes pick out inspiration for our designs and pick out not what to do from a terrible ones.

What is your favourite wedding movie of all time?

We love the a wide-range of weddings films, The Princess Bride, The Wedding Singer, Wedding Crashers and Muriel’s Wedding are our favs, they are sooo funny and give you that feel good factor. What more does a girl want!

Lastly, what advice would you give to a couple deciding on their wedding theme?

It should represent your personal style. It’s your special day, you should do what you really want to do. If you love the glam and a bit of sparkle, go for it! Choose a beautiful hotel, arrange elegant tablescapes, let it sparkle! If you feel you’d be the happiest dancing around in pretty low-heeled boots, go for a barn style wedding or rent a marquee, maybe do it festival style. The options are endless, just make sure you can be your prettiest self!
