Getting The Wedding Essentials Done

How to Pull Off a Last Minute Wedding

Planning a wedding can easily turn into 18+ months for obsessing over wedding details and drama. But what if you only had a few months to plan your wedding? Having an expert who has the experience you need will be vital. Patricia from Oriel House Hotel is just the lady! Here are her tips on  getting the wedding essentials done – Don’t Tell The Bride Style!

Get the big Essentials Done

Your budget, the guest list and your style will be what defines everything else. In your heart, you probably know the answer to these questions. Double check your guest list with family and your partner and get to step two ASAP!

Book a Reception/Set The Date

Your usual local venues might be booked up on Saturdays but you never know when it comes to late availability. Even so, peak weekend dates may still be available. So many great wedding venues (us included) may get a last minute cancellation for any reason! Remember that a lot of your guests may not have a 9-5 Monday-Friday job, so weekends won’t make much of a difference to them. If your wedding is last minute, going as inclusive as possible may be your best option.

Book a Planner

What ever your budget is, a wedding planner will help you get to your big day faster, and more efficient than you could on your own. A great wedding planner will leave no stone unturned. Plus, they will know all the secrets of planning a wedding perfectly. Our why wait wedding package is designed to take the stress out of it for you. We have lists of supplier’s and we would be happy to assist with your last minute plans.

Send Your Invites

Get those invites out! The most frustrating part of planning can often be getting RSVPs back so make sure your bridal party can help you follow up on invites. Ask your parents to follow up with their friends and extended family members. Remember to stress to family that you are trying to achieve a lot in a short space of time so it’s important for them not invite anyone extra on your behalf.

Wedding Dress, Tux, Bridal Party Clothes

If you’re planning a wedding in a short space of time, you will not have that time to spare for fittings or custom orders, but you do have plenty of options. Big bridal boutiques will hold sample sales from time-to-time and you may end up with a stunning designer piece. Remember that there are plenty amazing ready-to-wear lines out there too. BHLDN and H&M have amazing bridal styles, Lispsy has great options for bridesmaids (or the wearable dress – seriously, it’s a lifer!) and Debenhams have a great service available for grooms (and they do brilliant sales). For a lower budget but top quality try “Barnardos Bridals rooms” in Dunlaoire or Co. Wexford.
