I just love to share real weddings with you from our fabulous wedding venues throughout Ireland and the UK! Today’s real wedding took place in one of Dublin’s most renowned hotels Clyde Court Hotel (formerly Berkeley Court Hotel). With an exciting theme of Fire & Ice the room was dressed by Got’cha Covered and the celebration oozed style and glamour. Read on to find out more about Sean and Brendan’s celebration!
1. What 3 words would you use to describe your wedding day at Clyde Court Hotel?
Elegant, Stylish , Classy
2. What was the one thing at Clyde Court Hotel that made your wedding day complete?
For us it was being able to have our ceremony, drinks reception and actual wedding reception all within the same venue. Guests didn’t have to travel and could come and go as they wished to their rooms. The location was perfect, the décor classy and the staff extremely helpful.
3. Tell us about your wedding outfit.
Wine tailored tux suit jackets, black trousers and shirt.
4. Did you have an overall wedding theme?
Fire & Ice , a lot of crushed velvet black linen on ivory whites with red rose centre pieces with hanging crystals.
5. What one piece of advice would you give to wedding couples while planning their wedding?
To go for what you want, don’t feel pushed into a decision but keep an open mind, look at all the options. We treated our wedding like a blank canvas so we painted our own special day. We didn’t stress over it, didn’t have arguments over it. We enjoyed the lead up too.
6. What could you have not done without on your wedding day?
We hired the services of Gotcha Covered who created our vision and on the day made sure everything went to plan allowing us not to worry about little things. Diane from Gotcha Covered was on hand to us 24 / 7 with any queries and on the day looked after everything.
7. Tell us about your wedding cake..
We did a chocolate biscuit cake and served this to all guests. We also had unique cup cake wedding tower keeping in line with the theme of the room so every guest also could have one of these cupcakes.
8. What made you choose Clyde Court Hotel as your wedding venue?
We had worked in the venue before and attended events there in the past so we always felt it was a beautiful hotel, with very helpful staff. The location is so central but not smack bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city.
9. What did you enjoy about having a winter wedding?
The weather thankfully was dry, the air fresh, crisp. Although it was close to Christmas it didn’t snow but it allowed family & friends to attend from overseas and combine the wedding with a Christmas break. Where as if it were summer some would have had to pick if they return for Christmas or the Wedding.
