Here at WeddingDates we’re constantly looking for romantic locations for you guys to enjoy (and maybe to hint at to our loved ones!). Often we talk about dream destinations here at WeddingDates but we are a little ashamed to say that there is much of our Ireland that is still unexplored for us.
So, in light of this we decided to do a little research on some of the amazing destinations in Ireland, and yes, there’s many of them! One gem we happened upon is Powerscourt Estate, an area that is so breathtaking and beautiful, we’d be crazy not to take a trip down there. We caught up with Lisa and Emma from the Ritz Carlton in Powerscourt:
Powerscourt has so many amazing spots to enjoy, tell us, what would you recommend to a groom looking for somewhere romantic to propose?
Here at The Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt we are very lucky to have access to one of Ireland’s most charming and secluded spots. The River Walk is an exclusive, secret space and it’s possibly the most perfect place to propose.
The hotel can organise bicycles or a golf buggy for the happy couples to travel to the walk and a delicious, gourmet picnic can be arranged also, the ideal place to store an engagement ring!
When the couple get to the walk there are so many secret woodland trails that can be deviated down, the proposal is sure to be breathtakingly flawless!
There are so many impressive features in the Ritz Carlton. What impresses your guests most?
The most obvious answer would be the views, we are so fortunate to have such beautiful surroundings, Powerscourt and the surrounding areas are absolutely picturesque.
The views of the Sugar Loaf Mountain are breathtaking here at the hotel, you can see it from the rooms, the restaurants and then there are also some beautiful views from the Spa. On that note, I would say another feature in our hotel that impresses guests the most would be the ESPA, it features 20 treatment rooms, including one private Spa Suite and a superbly, luxurious 20-meter Swarovski crystal-lit pool. ESPA also features some home-grown signature treatments such as the warming Peat ritual and the Shillelagh Massage. It really is the place for over indulgence in luxury and relaxation, incredibly impressive.
What’s your advice for a couple celebrating their big day with you?
My advice would be this: Remember that the day is about the two of you, no-one else. It’s easy to forget this when planning a wedding and sometimes it’s hard not to let others interfere. The most important thing at the end of the day is; remembering why you got together in the first place.
