Classically beautiful. This bride’s dewy sparkle and elegant dress with detachable skirt had us all up in a heap…
Straight off the pages of a love story, the magical surroundings of Glenlo Abbey Hotel provided a stunning backdrop for Sinéad and Patrick’s wedding day on September 5th 2015. After trotting around the globe together and just moving back to Ireland, the Orient Express railway carriage complimented their travel theme perfectly. Gary Barrett Photography captured this truly romantic celebration.
A stolen kiss on a night out with friends sparked a long-distance relationship between the pair – Patrick was working in London while Sinéad was home in Galway. After moving across the water to be together, they decided to start a new adventure in Perth, Australia.
A swoon-worthy proposal on a holiday back to Ireland was the stuff that dreams are made of – and yes it included THE little blue box!
“We were on our way back to Ireland from Australia for a holiday and stopped over in Dubai for a short break along the way. When we got back to our hotel after a long day sightseeing I spotted a Tiffany Bag left on the table, I went over to investigate and found an empty ring box, when I turned around Patrick was on one knee with the ring in his hand. I had absolutely no idea he was going to propose and I was so surprised. It was so great to then go back home and celebrate with all of our friends and family.”
“Glenlo Abbey is such a beautiful and unique hotel. It is a really private venue and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The food is absolutely amazing and all of the staff are so nice. But the best part about the venue is definitely the gorgeous grounds; we go so many beautiful pictures outside.”
“Our photographer Gary Barrett was such a professional but he was also so chilled on the day that we really relaxed and had so much fun taking the pictures. He has a great eye and we were so happy with how he captured the day so perfectly.”
A huge thank you to Sinéad and Patrick for sharing their stunning day with WeddingDates and to their photographer Gary Barrett for shooting these breath-taking shots. You can see more of his work at www.garybarrettphoto.com
