I have always loved Autumn – it’s just such a beautiful time of the year and it’s also the perfect time for some seriously creative and sensual wedding styling.

Are you as addicted to Instagram & Pinterest as I am? Over the past few weeks, my social media newsfeeds are full of photos of the most impressive decorated pumpkins which by the way I am just dying to try out for myself.

I have fallen in love with the idea of using pumpkins for your table centrepieces… and I am NOT talking about the traditional orange colour with ghosts faces carved into them.

I am talking about style, sophistication and opulence…

All you have to do is cut off the top and scoop out the inside of the pumpkin. It might be best to place a small container, such as a glass, inside the pumpkin to help you keep the flowers in place. Then you just trim your flowers to fit and arrange in the glass inside the pumpkin. You can paint/spray paint the pumpkin gold, silver, white, pastels, black or any colour you want to work with your theme. You can also just leave the pumpkins whole and decorate them and use them to add some texture/style to your table setting. Use a tall candlestick as a pedestal and give your pumpkin the royal treatment! I adore these fancy copper striped white pumpkins from Homey Oh My!

For my own wedding, my husband Denis and I did some of our own DIY projects and I must say from experience that it’s such a good idea to do even one of the most simple of projects together. It is a very special time that you will always remember and the DIY attempt adds so much personality to your day. You don’t have to be Martha Stewart – just chose a project that you can do and go for it… crooked edges add character!

I have bought my pumpkins, now I just need to decide what I want to do with them,

Nessa
