Bright and beautiful, Michaela and Graham’s outdoor affair has us longing for sunny summer days…
After falling in love on a holiday to Greece and creating treasured memories while travelling over the years, Michaela set her heart on a cheerful yellow wedding theme. On August 28th 2015, the pair exchanged vows in a pretty garden ceremony at Glenview Hotel & Leisure Club.
We love the relaxed and chilled out vibe at their special day. The boys wore waistcoats with rolled-up sleeves and fun minion socks! While Michaela looked effortlessly pretty and totally rocked a pair of custom-made bridal Converse. Plus the bridesmaids jumped up to sing a surprise song dedicated especially to the newlyweds!
“While on a trip around Thailand, we stayed at a beach resort on Koh Phangan. It was a small resort with 10 beach huts looking out onto a private beach. One night we were sitting on our veranda watching the sunset and we went for a little walk down the beach to the edge of the water, and that’s when the question was popped! Even though I knew Michaela would say yes, I was still extremely nervous! I ended up kneeling down on both knees rather than one, and fluffed some of my lines that I thought I had memorised!”
“There’s so many great things about Glenview Hotel, we fell in love with it from the moment we set foot inside and met Alina. The gardens are stunning, and an outdoor ceremony is a must (weather permitting!). The food is also of the highest quality. But if we were to pick just one thing it would have to be the staff. They made us feel so comfortable on the day and made sure we had nothing to worry about. They were all brilliant, and a special mention goes to Alina and Sabine for putting it all together.”
“Alina is so enthusiastic. So positive. If we were tentatively broaching an idea, she’d fill in all the blanks and help us feel that everything was possible. She is very creative, and so friendly and approachable.”
“Our photographer Deryck Tormey made us feel very comfortable around him. As we’re not very fond of posing for photographs, he made sure that it was kept to the bare minimum, and he spent more time walking around the reception and party taking some brilliant ‘natural’ shots.”
Of course, their fabulous tales and memories from trips abroad with family and friends had to be included in their love story! After gathering inspiration from Pinterest and with a little help from Alina at Glenview, their table plan and names certainly had the wow factor!
“We wanted to make our day as personal to us as possible, so we involved as many of our friends and family as we could. The invitations, table plan, name cards, fingerprint tree, flowers and the photography, was all done by our closest friends and family and we were delighted with the results. Our day wouldn’t have been as special without their input!”
A huge thank you to Michaela and Graham for sharing their special day with us and to Deryck Tormey for allowing us to use these stunning images. See more of his work over at www.dtphotography.ie
