Super Serums and What They Mean For a Bride

Super Serums and What They Mean For a Bride

Coming up to your wedding you will need to supplement your normal beauty regime with a serum. So, what is a serum and what are the benefits? Simply put; a serum is to your skin what a vitamin is to a healthy diet. It just makes everything work a little better. Serums are full of active ingredients so it is important that you use them for your appropriate skin concern.

Dry or dehydrated skin

  • The best Product: Shiseido Bio Performance Super Corrective Serum

This is my serum of choice as I do get quite dehydrated cheeks and in my mid 30’s my concerns would be that of keeping my skin moist and supple.I know that this serum helps fight future signs of ageing and Shiseido is my fave skin care brand. The ingredients in this product that make it so super are Hyaluronic acid (the moisture holder found naturally in the skin) and EPO or evening primrose oil. I have to say that although my skin is dry/combination it didn’t add to to the oil and it worked on making my pores less obvious feels like satin on your skin and will plump out any fine lines, great in my opinion for the over 30’s. I use it morning and evening, the morning it protects and the evening it regenerates.

Best for the undisciplined

  • The best Product: Chanel Le Jour, Le Nuit and Le Weekend

The Jour and Nuit are used as a serum combination and the weekend is a moisturiser that you must wear an SPF over as it contains a small amount of glycolic acid to help rejuvenate the skin. This product is recommended to use all three products twice per year. And by twice per year you complete the course, kind of like an antibiotic. It brightens and evens out the skin leaving it radiant and perfect for a bride. The fact that you don’t have to use this trio of tricks 12 months of the year means that even the laziest can commit to doing this once a year for a few weeks!

Best Night-time only product

  • The best Product: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

This product is used under your moisturiser at night to help repair your skin while you sleep. This is Estee Lauder’s most popular product and it is easily absorbed and works amazingly well. This also contains the Hyaluronic acid and antioxidants to optimise cell renewal. It helps to even and make skin look younger and more radiant. The texture is quite liquid so a little goes a long way.

Best for pigmentation

  • The best Product: Clinique Even Better

The Clinique even better clinical won me over because the texture of the serum is dreamy and the results easy to see. As someone that has spent a lot of time abroad in the sun I found that certain areas of my skin had become quite heavily pigmented. I used the serum and saw a difference both in texture and appearance of the darker spots particularly on my cheekbones. Excellent for sun –lovers.

Best for the younger bride

  • The best Product: Clarins Double Serum

If you skin is a bit oiler, the Clarins Double Serum may just be your best bet. Using the best plant power and smelling fab-u-lous the Double serum uses both oil and water to tackle pores, ageing and radiance. Clarins overall is one of my favourite brands for all round brilliant-ness and the Double serum gets it just right. Check out their new three dot liner pen too! Amazing.
