The Day after the Wedding

Congratulations! You are married. Just a few more little things need organizing and then you can jet off on honeymoon….

Men’s Attire
If the grooms’, best mans’ and groomsmen’s suits have been hired they will need to be sent back to the supplier. If you can’t do this assign it to one of the groomsmen, sooner rather than later.

The Wedding Dress
Make sure that you have somewhere to hang your dress after the wedding. Ask your bridesmaids or mum to take it to the cleaners – often the sooner the better!

Flowers
The day after the wedding there may be lots of flowers to be distributed or given to good homes! Some couples like to put a bouquet on a deceased loved one’s grave. Or is there somebody special that really helped you out coming up to the wedding? Is there a local hospital that would really appreciate the flowers? Or neighbours or family that couldn’t make it to the wedding?

Cake
If there is any cake left over you will have to decide where it goes. The freezer? Your relations? Your parents? There will be no shortage of volunteers!

Honeymoon Preparation
You may have last minute packing to do. Gather your tickets, passports, and currency.

Settle Your Bills
Settle your bill with the venue and pay any other outstanding invoices. You don’t want to be faced with bills when you come back from honeymoon and wedding suppliers will want to be paid as soon as possible.

Presents and Cards
Gather the presents and cards you received and put them in a safe place while you are on honeymoon. Check your reception venue to see if any cards or messages were handed in at reception for you.

Post-wedding party
If you are having a “day after” party it may be no harm to remind people about the time and place again. This is something that your bridesmaids could do for you.
